Equipment Operator

Job Overview

Position: MHE/Forklift Operator ft:
Monday-Friday, 7:00am-4:00pm.

• Operate forklift or other powered material handling equipment (MHE) to move and stack merchandise safely and efficiently.
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance of equipment, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards.
• Load, unload, move, stack and stage product and materials using gasoline, liquefied gas, or electric powered MHE equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, boom, scoop, lift beam, swivel hook, fork grapple, clamps, elevating platform, trailer hitch, or motorized pallet rider.
• Unload inbound shipments, move product to storage locations, and efficiently stack merchandise in appropriate areas.
• Prepare products for shipment, ensuring accurate quantity and type, and load them onto rail cars, trailers or containers.
• Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
• Perform picking, packing, light assembly, labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and reports for inventory control and security.
• Assist in physical inventories and ensure proper stock rotation.
• Investigate and resolve customer special requests, problems, and discrepancies in coordination with other departments.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.

• High school or G.E.D. degree; minimum three years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certified license of powered material handling equipment and R.F. scanner certificates / licenses / registrations if applicable.
• Ability to learn and effectively use software applications such as move management, timekeeping, HRIS and other job-related systems.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds unassisted, climb a ladder, and perform repetitive motions as required.
• Strong manual dexterity and vision (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, focus) sufficient for safe handling of items.
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork orientation.

• Use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach, manipulate, and operate machinery over 2/3 of time.
• Climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl frequent.
• Talk or hear >2/3 of time.
• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted; able to carry and climb a ladder; stand and walk for extended periods as described.
• Perform repetitive movements and use hands and feet simultaneously; tolerance for vibration and noise.
