The Registered Nurse in the ICU/CCU provides skilled nursing care to critically ill patients, working within a 4-bed ICU unit. Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, emergency response, medication administration, and ventilator management. The role requires strong clinical skills and the ability to work every other weekend on night shifts.

Responsibilities:
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Management of multi-system organ failure
- Obtaining 12-lead EKGs
- Arterial line management
- Blood product administration
- Central line care and management
- PICC line management
- Starting IVs
- Continuous IV paralytics/neuromuscular blockade administration
- Continuous IV sedation administration
- Administering emergency medications
- Titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Assisting with BiPAP and CPAP management
- Assisting with chest tube insertion/removal
- Care of ventilated patients
- High flow nasal cannula (HFNC) management
- Interpretation of ABGs
- Suctioning (ETT, NT)
- Ventilator management
- Implementing infection prevention and isolation precautions
- Managing surgical wounds with drains/wound vacs
- Patient assessments, medication administration, and treatment planning
- Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team
- Documenting patient care and related duties appropriately
Required Skills &
Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license in IL
- ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
- Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills
- IV insulin protocols experience
- Chronic/Acute Renal failure experience
- Arterial line management skills
- Blood Product Administration skills
- Central line care/management skills
- PICC line management skills
- Starting IVs skills
- Continuous IV paralytics/Neuromuscular blockade skills
- Continuous IV sedation skills
- Emergency Medications skills
- Titrate Cardiac drips skills
- Titrate Vasoactive drips skills
- Assist with management of BiPAP skills
- Assist with management of CPAP skills
- Assist with Chest Tube Insertion/Removal skills
- Care of Ventilated Patient skills

Special Considerations:
- Will float as needed within scope to meet facility needs.
- Client may call-off up to 36 hours per thirteen week assignment without paying for the cancelled hours.
- If Candidates are placed on-call in lieu of being called off, that will count as a called-off shift.
Scheduling:
- Nights )
- Will work every other weekend
- Discuss schedule requests with manager
