We are looking to connect with experienced Construction Superintendents for future opportunities with our team. This role will support residential construction projects across the Onslow County market and surrounding areas. Future Construction Superintendents will be responsible for managing day-to-day field operations, coordinating subcontractors and vendors, maintaining schedules, solving jobsite issues, and helping ensure each home is completed according to company standards, plans, specifications, budget, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise residential construction projects from start to completion
- Communicate closely with the Construction Coordinator to ensure preconstruction stays on schedule and jobs are ready to start on time.
- Manage subcontractors, vendors, field personnel, schedules, inspections, deliveries, and jobsite logistics
- Conduct lot inspections, including marking up plot plans for clearing bids and flagging, and determining foundation types and heights.
- Order materials, coordinate pickups, and manage waste, returns, and credits
- Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and according to plans, specifications, and company quality standards
- Complete all Superintendent checklists and upload them to the company server
- Inspect work throughout construction for accuracy, safety, and compliance
- Resolve day-to-day jobsite issues quickly and professionally
- Communicate construction updates, changes, and schedule impacts with the production team
- Work with the Construction Coordinator on inspections, utilities, dumpsters, toilets, and other jobsite needs
- Work with the Client Liaison to support homeowner and agent communication and timely closings
- Conduct pre-closing home demonstrations with agents and buyers, and create the final punch list prior to closing.
- Prepare extra purchase orders as needed
- Update schedules, daily logs, client communication, and project information in company systems
- Maintain organized job files, paperwork, and documentation
- Follow company safety policies and help maintain safe jobsites
- Support Horizons East Team members as needed to keep projects moving forward
- 3+ years of construction experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, jobsite operations, and building trades
- Knowledge of one or more building trades, such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or related trades
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, specifications, and construction documents
- Understanding of technical construction details and field problem-solving
- Experience using Build Pro or Hyphen software preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and follow-through skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and active jobsites
- Ability to work proactively and independently with minimal supervision
- Team-focused mindset with a willingness to step in and support others when needed
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to relocate to or commute to Jacksonville, NC and travel to multiple jobsite locations
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record required
- $50,000 to $70,000 per year, depending on experience
