Piper Companies is seeking a Network Unified Communications Design Engineer Senior to support a major government program at Camp Lejeune, NC. The Network Unified Communications Design Engineer Senior will focus heavily on unified communications engineering, VoIP architecture, and complex network design within a secure military environment. This position will be onsite at Camp Lejuene, NC!
Responsibilities of the Network Unified Communications Design Engineer Senior:- Assist the Government Lead with daily engineering duties across complex systems.
- Perform LAN/BAN/WAN administration, including scheduling conversions and cutovers.
- Evaluate and design communication hardware/software and troubleshoot network-related issues.
- Develop and integrate identity and access management requirements.
- Engineer and design VoIP services including integration of new and existing VoIP servers, switches, routers, and supporting systems.
- Support Extension Mobility, Unified Messaging, Emergency Responder, and Call Center operations within a Service Desk environment.
- Design Layer 3 VoIP services and update TACLANE configurations supporting USMC and DISA VoSIP.
- Configure auxiliary voice VLANs and support PSTN interfaces, fax modules, and voice system operations.
- Manage hardware, software, network, and scheduling for videoconferencing across DoN, DoD, Federal, and commercial networks.
- Design, develop, and operate application networking ports/protocols, IA, routing, and LAN.
- Work with DNS, DHCP, and large-scale, complex network configurations.
- Support CMS (Cisco Meeting Server) including integration into existing architectures, OVA deployments, legacy infrastructure (Codian bridges, hardware VCS), and network traversal.
- Perform packet capture, SBC/CUBE support, Fortinet firewall configuration, and DISA Global Video Service registration.
- 10+ years of IT experience with a focus on networking.
- Strong experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco/Juniper networking, and VoIP technologies.
- Proficiency in building Call Manager clusters, dial plan management, Cisco Unity integration, Cisco Presence integration, VM management, and upgrading outdated clusters.
- Active IAT Level III certification required.
- Must hold one of the following: CASP CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, or GCIH.
- Active Secret Clearance required.
- Experience with CMS, Codian bridges, CUBE/SBCs, Fortinet firewalls, and video/voice security architectures.
- Familiarity with DISA Global Video Service and registration processes.
- Professional-level certifications in related vendor technologies (CCSP, FCNSP, JNCIP-SEC, CMSP, or equivalent) or demonstrated equivalent experience.
- Salary range: $110,000 – $130,000
