ACET is seeking an Avionics Technician (CDI) at our MCAS New River (Jacksonville, NC) location.
Responsibilities:- Serve as a CDI from the primary discipline of MOS 6324 during the contract duration.
- Performs routine aircraft maintenance functions.
- Performs quality technical inspection of aircraft, aircraft components, parts, repairs, and systems (including avionics, electrical, instrument and armament) as required by functional assignment.
- Performs quality and safety inspections of on-site equipment and tools used in aircraft maintenance, vehicles, and equipment.
- Performs initial, in-progress and final quality technical inspections during maintenance, repair, modification, rework, and overhaul of aircraft, aircraft components, and component parts, and overhaul of aircraft, aircraft components, and component parts.
- Provides technical guidance, instructions, and interpretation of written instructions and procedures to technicians as required to assure acceptable quality work and flight line services.
- Assists in preparation, processing, and answering of Product Quality Deficiency Reports (PQDRs).
- Operates aircraft towing equipment in towing operations. Maintains aircraft hydraulic systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections on aircraft and aircraft systems and subsystems.
- Performs aircraft maintenance to include inspection, operational test, repair, and modification of aircraft electrical/avionics systems.
- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of applicable maintenance/technical manuals and publications, and special tools and test equipment.
- Possess a thorough working knowledge of the detection, prevention and treatment of corrosion.
- Perform the troubleshooting and rewiring of complex avionics/electrical systems and subsystems discrepancies and modifications.
- Provides technical assistance, guidance and instruction as required.
- When assigned to the flight line, provide customer support during launch and recovery and aircraft security as required.
- Perform troubleshooting, repair, modifications, corrosion control and preservation of aircraft and aircraft systems and aircraft sub-systems.
- Performs functional checks, inspections, troubleshooting as required and trained.
- May be required to perform Maintenance Operational Checks (MOCs)
- Completes maintenance documentation accurately using OOMA, and required forms, as required by job assignment.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years rotary wing aviation experience.
- One (1) year prior experience as a Collateral Duty Inspector on USMC UH-1 or AH-1 aircraft or similar aircraft.
- High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate
- U.S Citizen and must pass a background check and be able to obtain and maintain a Common access card.
- Must meet any Government/Company licensing/qualification requirements for the position.
- Demonstrate an operational knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, engines and component parts.
- Must be familiar with operational capabilities and limitations of electrical/avionics systems.
- Able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, technical manuals, and use measuring instruments, gauges, tools, and test equipment.
- Knowledge of the proper use of hand tools in aircraft maintenance.
- Able to read and write and interpret and comply with aircraft maintenance procedures, manuals, specifications, and directives, guides and forms used on the job.
- Must show proficiency in the use of OOMA after assignment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 pounds.
- Must be able to pass fit for work physical and/or drug test as required.
- Must be able to work in areas that require awkward posturing, bending, kneeling, squatting, to include working overhead.
- Must be able to work at height in the hangar and on the flightline.
- Must be able to man and perform Flight line Extinguisher duties.
- If required must be able to pass a DOT physical and operate Powered Industrial Trucks.
- If required must be able to pass a respiratory physical and wear a respirator for 2 - 4 hours.
- If required must be able to perform confined space activities.
- Travel may be required.
