The Position:

ACET is seeking a highly skilled and safety-driven H-1 Airframes/Hydraulics Mechanic to serve as a Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR) at our MCAS New River location in Jacksonville, NC.

The ideal candidate will come from the primary discipline of Airframes MOS 6154 and possess extensive experience with USMC UH-1 or AH-1 aircraft. In this role, you will be responsible for performing routine aircraft maintenance, managing hydraulic and structural systems, and acting as a critical line of defense for safety and compliance.

As a CDQAR, you will perform technical inspections across multiple disciplines (avionics, electrical, structural, and armament) to guarantee the highest level of flight readiness and contract compliance.

Collateral Duty Quality Assurance (CDQA) Responsibilities:

  • Technical Inspections: Perform meticulous initial, in-progress, and final quality technical inspections during the maintenance, repair, modification, rework, and overhaul of H-1 aircraft, components, and parts.
  • Multi-Discipline Oversight: Execute quality technical inspections across functional assignments, including airframes, hydraulics, avionics, electrical, instrument, and armament systems.
  • Safety & Tool Compliance: Conduct comprehensive quality and safety inspections of all on-site equipment, support vehicles, and tools utilized in aircraft maintenance to ensure zero-defect tool control.
  • Deficiency Reporting: Assist in the preparation, documentation, processing, and answering of Product Quality Deficiency Reports (PQDRs).
  • Technical Mentorship: Provide clear technical guidance, instructional support, and interpretation of complex written procedures to mechanics to assure acceptable quality work and safe flight line services.

General Maintenance & Airframe Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and unscheduled aircraft maintenance functions on UH-1 and AH-1 platforms.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex aircraft hydraulic and structural systems, as well as fuel and oil subsystems.
  • Perform advanced structural repairs, including carbon fiber, sheet metal, and composite repairs.
  • Execute flight-line corrosion prevention, localized treatment, and long-term preservation techniques.
  • Safely operate aircraft towing equipment during flight line and hangar towing operations.
  • Perform functional checks and pre-flight/post-flight inspections as required and trained.
  • Maintain flawless maintenance documentation utilizing OOMA and all required naval aviation forms.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of dedicated aviation maintenance experience.
  • Prior experience as a Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR) on USMC UH-1 or AH-1 aircraft.
  • Must possess a primary background from the 6154 MOS (Helicopter Mechanic, UH-1/AH-1).
  • High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED).
  • Proficiency with OOMA (Optimized Organizational Maintenance Activity) software and Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) processes.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain access to MCAS New River (Clearance or base access requirements as applicable).
