💰 $17.00/hour + up to $1.50 shift differential

Make a Difference in Behavioral Health & Recovery

Pyramid Healthcare is hiring Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) for our residential and sober living programs in Jacksonville, NC. This is a direct care role for compassionate individuals who want to support adults in recovery and mental health treatment. Whether you’re looking for day, evening, overnight, or weekend shifts, we have flexible opportunities available.

Position Summary

The Behavioral Health Technician provides direct supervision and support to clients, assists with daily programming, and ensures a safe, therapeutic environment. This role works closely with clinical and administrative teams to support treatment goals and client recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with client intake and orientation
  • Monitor and document client behavior, progress, and incidents
  • Observe and document medication self‑administration per protocol
  • Support daily schedules, therapeutic activities, and group programming
  • Follow individualized treatment plans and address client needs
  • Transport clients to appointments and program activities
  • Respond to behavioral or emotional crises using approved interventions
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and structured environment
  • Assist with daily living needs and dietary support
  • Complete required documentation, trainings, and compliance tasks
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications Required
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
Preferred
  • Experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, mental health, or healthcare
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations (behavioral health, addiction, residential care, social services, etc.)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to de‑escalate crisis situations and manage risk
  • Sound judgment and problem‑solving skills
  • Understanding of regulatory and ethical standards in behavioral healthcare
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and therapeutic rapport
Physical &

Work Environment Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, stair climbing, and use of hands/arms
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs and carrying up to 25 lbs
  • Local travel required (reliable transportation required)
  • Exposure to infectious diseases and psychiatric emergencies possible
  • Indoor clinical and residential settings with moderate noise levels
