Position functions as a member of a clinical team which directs, coordinates and provides treatment to children, adults and families who may have mental health, intellectual/developmental and/or substance use disorders.  Performs professional work providing comprehensive clinical assessments, substance abuse assessments, domestic violence assessments, individual and family therapy, and crisis intervention services throughout the week, after-hours and on weekends to prevent disruptions.  

Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Human Services Program Manager.

* Conducts comprehensive clinical assessments, substance use assessments and domestic violence assessments and makes service recommendations.

* Works closely with other clinical staff and professional staff, maintaining communication and providing frequent feedback.

* Independently directs and provides clinical services for assigned caseload to include, but not limited to, short-term and long-term individual, group and family therapies.

* Independently acts as coordinator of treatment for assigned caseload.  Develops, monitors, updates and evaluates treatment plans and consumer outcomes; has responsibility for authorization and utilization management; identifies, facilitates and utilizes system of care concepts across all aspects of treatment.

* Independently participates in the multidisciplinary treatment process and assumes shared accountability for all aspects of consumer care for assigned team caseload.

* Independently organizes, composes and submits documentation required for all aspects of consumer care by completing internal and external reports, records and summaries.

* Independently coordinates, develops, facilitates and participates in the provision of the full range of crisis intervention services for assigned caseload.

* Provides consultation and training for Child Protective Services and Health Department professionals and foster parents.

* Provides psychoeducation and parent skills training using an evidenced-based curriculum.

* Accepts referrals from child welfare professionals and manages the unique and multifaceted needs of children and adults involved with child welfare.

* Provides assistance with navigating crucial social determinants of health, such as stable housing, food security, access to primary care, and connections to mental health and substance use services.

* Provides capacity evaluations for individuals involved with Adult Protective Services.  

* Collaborates closely with child welfare professionals through client and case discussion, participation in Child and Family Team meetings and clinical consultations.

* Works both within an office setting and the community to include client homes and various community settings.

* Performs assigned functions as a Disaster Ready Team (DRT) member

* Performs related tasks as assigned

A thorough knowledge of psychosocial, psychological, behavioral and psychiatric disorders.
Requires active engagement and coordination of care and internal resources including psychiatry and community support as well as external bodies including the legal system, families, and social support agencies.  This position relies on knowledge, experience, and judgement to provide quality services with very little supervision required.  Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally in a professional manner and style, and the ability to communicate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and educational levels.  

Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with clients, staff, community resources, and the general public.
Ability to reach, analyze, and interpret general professional journals, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations.  Ability to effectively present information and speak in front of a group, respond to questions from employees, individuals served, government officials and the general public.

Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related human services field.
