Cybersecurity Architect

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Architect, for the Facilities Related Control Systems (FRCS) Support Services contract. This project will provide knowledge, training, and support to assist the U.S. Marine Corps Public Works Department in the areas of FRCS, cybersecurity, assessment and authorization (A&A), authority to operate/authority to connect (ATO/ATC) package upkeep and maintenance, USMC cloud and cloud-based A&A support, and data center support/administration for the FRCS virtualized environment, servers, and associated applications.

This is a part-time, on-site position at Marine Corps Base (MCB) Camp Lejeune, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) New River, and satellite locations near Camp Lejeune, working 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, within normal business hours (7:00 am to 5:00 pm).

The Cybersecurity Architect will be a key personnel position for the Facilities Related Control Systems (FRCS) Support Services contract. This position leads cybersecurity architecture accreditation, compliance, and risk management for FRCS and ICS/OT systems supporting Marine Corps. This position is contingent upon contract award.

You will:

  • Lead the cybersecurity architecture, Risk Management Framework (RMF), and Authority to Operate/Authority to Connect (ATO/ATC) processes for FRCS and ICS/OT environments, ensuring compliance with USMC cybersecurity requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain cybersecurity policies, system security plans, security architectures, and technical guidance aligned with NIST SP 800-53, DoDI 8510.01, CNSSI 1253, DFIA, and Marine Corps accreditation standards.
  • Conduct security assessments, vulnerability and risk analyses, compliance validations, and DISA STIG reviews while developing and managing POA&Ms to remediate identified cybersecurity findings.
  • Coordinate cybersecurity engineering activities with systems administrators, network engineers, and control systems specialists to integrate secure architecture, support system accreditation, and protect mission-critical FRCS infrastructure.
  • Prepare white papers, technical briefs, training materials, standard operating procedures, and executive-level documentation that communicate cybersecurity strategies, compliance requirements, and technical solutions for ICS/OT environments.
  • Advise Government stakeholders on cybersecurity best practices, emerging threats, secure system design, and continuous monitoring strategies to strengthen the security, resilience, and compliance of Marine Corps FRCS operations.

You might be the professional we're looking for if you have:

  • A current Secret clearance is required.
  • Authorization to permanently work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Oral and written English fluency.
  • State's Driver's License.
  • Master's Degree or 20 years C&A/A&A experience.
  • Experience with USMC accreditations (ATO/ATC) for large architectures.
  • Experienced with writing custom Cybersecurity policies for ICS/OT (operational technology) devices and systems.
  • Expert in the USMC A&A process to include MCCAST 2.0, RMF, Defense-in-Depth Functional Implementation Architecture (DFIA), and Committee on National Security Systems Instruction (CNSSI) 1253.
  • CNSSI 4011, 4012, 4015, 4016A (Required).
  • Experience creating/managing Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM).
  • Experience with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG).
  • Experience interpreting/implementing standards and policies in accordance with National Institute of Standards (NIST) 800-53/DoDI 8510.01.
  • Experience with vulnerability/risk analysis.
  • Experience conducting compliance assessments/validations as well as conceptualizing and implementing security systems and architectures.
  • Expert in the creation and editing of White Papers, Briefs, Training Materials, and other documentation related to the technical solution developed at CLNC.
