Responsibilities
Admissions RN supports the daily function of the Admissions Department in collaboration with the Admissions Director. Lead Admissions RN is responsible for shift assignments for each clinician and nurse on shift and designating tasks as needed ensuring the operations of the shift. In addition, the Lead Admissions RN will perform all duties of an admissions RN.
Admissions RN completes assessments for patient admissions, is responsible for all referrals, provides information to individuals, agencies, facilities and professional staff, includes physicians and consulting professionals, and obtains information regarding potential admissions. The RN develops and maintains relationships with ongoing referral sources and may seek alternate treatment resources when appropriate. The RN completes insurance verification and pre‑certifications as applicable, participates in crisis and safety interventions as needed, and assists in performance improvement/quality measurement activities as assigned.
RNs will be expected to cross‑train between intake and the unit as well.

Education: Associate degree in Nursing.
Experience: Two (2) years’ experience in behavioral health setting preferred.
License / Certification: Current North Carolina or compact state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
Physical requirements: Light Work – exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly. Physical demand includes walking or standing to a significant degree, or working at a production rate pace while constantly pushing or pulling materials even if negligible. Includes tasks such as grasping, speaking, hearing, computer use, visual acuity, sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, stooping, reaching, twisting, crouching, agility to perform physical restraints/holds, and agility to administer CPR.
