Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to patients in an urgent care setting, demonstrating expertise in acute patient management and a commitment to patient-centered care. This role requires a strong understanding of medical documentation, aseptic techniques, and the ability to handle various medical situations efficiently.
Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including obtaining medical histories and performing physical examinations.
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries in patients of all ages.
- Administer medications, perform procedures, and provide treatments as necessary, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in accordance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on health management, preventive care, and treatment options.
- Manage acute pain effectively through appropriate interventions.
- Stay informed about workers' compensation laws relevant to patient care and treatment protocols.
- Provide infant care as needed, ensuring safe practices in all procedures involving young patients.
- Participate in continuous education and training to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Requirements
- Current Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license with certification in family or acute care nursing.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, sterile processing systems, and medical documentation practices.
- Experience or training in dialysis procedures is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with workers' compensation law is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to manage acute pain effectively within a clinical setting.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
