Security Specialist The Opportunity
The Security Specialist is a key position responsible for assisting the Marine Corps Security Manager and Special Security Officer (SSO) with the execution and administration of the command security program. This role provides direct support to the Information, Personnel, and Physical Security programs (IPSP), with a primary focus on managing all personnel check‑in and check‑out processes, validating clearances, and ensuring the lifecycle management, security, and accountability of all classified material.
The Security Specialist is essential for ensuring strict compliance with all DoD, DoN, and Marine Corps regulations.
Performs a wide range of functions to ensure the protection of government sensitive and classified information. Applies advanced advisory skills and extensive technical expertise with full industry knowledge. Develops innovative solutions to complex problems. Works without considerable direction. Mentors and may supervise team members.

You Have- 3+ years of experience in security administration, maintaining sensitive personnel records, and classified material handling and document control within a cleared government or military environment.
- Knowledge of DISS and NBIS personnel security systems.
- Knowledge of Intelligence Community Directives (ICD) 705, DoD Manual 5205.07, and 32 CFR 117 NISPOM.
- Knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) directives, SECNAV instructions, and USMC orders such as MCO 5510 series.
- Ability to take direction and tasks from SMO personnel while also functioning independently.
- Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam.
- HS diploma or GED.
- Ability to obtain USMC Security Management Course and ODNI Special Security Officer Course (SSOC) Certification within 180 days of hire date.
- Ability to obtain CDSE STEPP trainings such as Derivative Classification, RMF, OPSEC Awareness, and Unauthorized Disclosure Certification within 90 days of hire date.
- Experience using office equipment, including copy machines, networked computers, scanners, shredders, and access control systems.
- Possession of strong attention to detail and motivation.
- Possession of the flexibility to move from one task to another in a fast‑paced environment.
- Associate's degree in security preferred;
Bachelor's degree in security a plus.
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
CompensationSalary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract‑specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $69,400.00 to $ (annualized USD).
