to support the daily operational activities of commercial and industrial HVAC maintenance and service operations aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune. This position works closely with management, HVAC supervisors and mechanics, subcontractors, vendors, work control, and government personnel to ensure efficient workflow, scheduling coordination, procurement support, accurate documentation, and customer service.
The HVAC Operations Specialist assists with preventive maintenance and service-order tracking, work coordination, HVAC parts and material procurement, production reporting, and administrative support to help keep HVAC work moving from initial service request through completion.
Salary$28.10/ hr. plus $15.25 fringe benefits used towards insurance and 401k!

- Support daily HVAC operations including preventive maintenance, service calls, corrective repairs, troubleshooting activities, and equipment replacement work.
- Assist with coordinating HVAC maintenance and repair schedules to ensure timely completion of preventive maintenance, work orders, and service calls.
- Monitor HVAC workflow, work-order status, backlog, material status, and operational priorities to support efficient shop performance.
- Coordinate procurement of HVAC parts, materials, filters, supplies, tools, and equipment required for maintenance and repair activities.
- Assist with HVAC parts research using manufacturer, model, serial number, equipment data, parts breakdowns, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate vendor and subcontractor quotes, material availability, lead times, deliveries, and other procurement-related requirements.
- Maintain HVAC operational records, reports, spreadsheets, service-order information, purchase documentation, and related maintenance data.
- Assist management with tracking HVAC expenditures, purchase requests, material commitments, and inventory levels for commonly used items.
- Coordinate with HVAC field personnel and Work Control to obtain job updates, document status changes, and support accurate Maximo service-order closeout.
- Communicate professionally with Government personnel, facility occupants, subcontractors, vendors, HVAC employees, and other support departments.
- Support implementation of HVAC operational policies, preventive maintenance procedures, digital tools, and process improvements.
- Compile HVAC performance metrics and reports including preventive maintenance completion, service-order status, backlog, response trends, and material delays.
- Support compliance with safety, environmental, refrigerant-management, and company requirements applicable to HVAC operations.
- Participate in HVAC meetings, equipment inspections, field coordination, shutdown planning, and operational planning activities as required.
- Working knowledge of commercial and industrial HVAC maintenance operations, terminology, and support functions.
- General familiarity with HVAC equipment such as air-handling units, packaged units, split systems, heat pumps, chillers, pumps, controls, and related components.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced maintenance environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, Maximo, and other business or maintenance-management software applications.
- Ability to interpret HVAC work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, equipment information, technical documents, O&M manuals, parts lists, and operational procedures.
- Understanding of maintenance workflow, parts procurement, scheduling, service-order tracking, and technician support requirements.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Government personnel, vendors, subcontractors, employees, and customers.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize HVAC work support activities and adapt to changing operational and mission requirements.
- Demonstrate initiative, dependability, accuracy, and attention to detail when entering or reporting maintenance information.
- Adhere to safety and environmental policies and procedures, including proper PPE requirements when entering active HVAC work areas.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of HVAC operations support, facilities maintenance, work control, logistics, procurement, administrative support, or related experience
- Valid driver's license compliant with REAL or are you willing and able to obtain one
- Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
- U.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations
- Extensive work with computers, phones, Maximo, and office equipment.
