Salary Range: $69,388.80 to $86,736.00.

Position Summary

The Social Work Supervisor will provide direct supervision and support to a team of Child Welfare Specialist IIs who investigate and assess the needs of children involved in reports of alleged abuse, neglect and/or dependency. The Social Work Supervisor provides feedback and guidance to staff to enhance their capabilities to perform efficiently. This position will require direct field work support and may be required to work some evenings and weekends to meet the needs of children and families.

This position provides direct supervision, training, support, review, and evaluation of professional technical and para-professional staff involved in areas within Social Services. This position compiles reports and data to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures as well as assignment and monitoring of cases. This position provides feedback to staff to enhance their capabilities to perform efficiently.

This role will be onsite at 720

E. 4th Street, Charlotte, NC 28202. Please note this position may require after hours (after 5:00 pm) and weekend work as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and approve investigative reports
  • Guide the development and implementation of safety plans and initial family service agreements
  • Monitor and evaluate casework of staff involved in child protection
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal child welfare regulations
  • Provide training and ongoing professional development for staff
  • Conduct regular team meetings and provide individual supervision
  • Coordinate with other agencies and stakeholders for comprehensive child protection
  • Handle complex cases and make critical decisions regarding child safety
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records
  • Respond to emergencies and provide guidance on urgent cases
  • Facilitate communication between caseworkers, families, and the legal system
  • Conduct performance evaluations and manage staff performance issues
