Jacksonville ISD has approximately 4500 students and 900 employees, serving grades pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade on eight campuses. The District is located in Cherokee County, approximately 25 miles south of Tyler. • Jacksonville Independent School District seeks an innovative, student driven leader for the position of Superintendent of Schools, beginning January 1, 2027. • Master’s Degree in educational administration from an accredited college or university
• Valid Texas Superintendent Certificate
• Five years of leadership in school administration in a Texas school district
• Experience in school leadership, preferably in a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or central office role
• Emphasizes a team mindset, promoting the idea that “this is our District.”
• Known for being visible, present and a people person, fostering open communication.
• Has diverse experience in school administration possessing a broad skill set without specializing in one area
• Seeks others’ ideas and is willing to make informed decisions and recommendations
• A forward-thinking leader with a dedication to advance overall District performance and student preparation for their futures.
• Master degree preferred.
