• Education:
  
  High School diploma or GED.
• Experience:
  
  Experience and licensure in Code Enforcement is preferred but not required.
• Certifications:
  
  TDLR Code Enforcement Registration.
• Licensing:
  Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License, with a clear driving record. Must meet Texas state law requirements to obtain and maintain Code Enforcement Officer licensure through TDLR.
• Residency:
  None.

Inspection/re-inspection, improvement, and rehabilitation of environmental hazards on public and private premises by determining the presence of fire or safety health hazards, nuisance violations, unsafe building conditions, and violations of any fire, health, or building regulation, statute, or ordinance.

• Conduct property maintenance inspections on public and private premises for violations of city property maintenance code.
• Determine the presence of property maintenance violations, nuisance violations, unsafe building conditions, and violations of any fire, health, or building regulations, statute, or ordinance.
• Issue notices of violations for municipal violations confirmed at the property during inspection.
• Issue notices of violations for municipal violations confirmed at the propery during inspection.
• Write civil citations for non compliance of local/state municipal ordinances and post to premise.
• Removal of trash and debris from premises or roadway through a referral to the city mowing contractor. Process abandoned vehicles for removal from roadway with the assistance of law enforcement.
• Must demonstrate the ability to properly handle confidential, sensitive, and legally protected information in compliance with state law, city policy, and CJIS-related standards where applicable.
• Ability to prepare legally sufficient documentation and provide credible testimony in court or administrative hearings.
• Assist Animal Control Services. Clean shelter, feed and water animals, assist in apprehension of stray animals. Issue citations to irresponsible pet owners. Purchase, and transport food for shelter animals. Load, transport to crematorium and unload deceased animals.
• Communicates with the public regarding case updates, complaints, and requests for additional information pertaining to violations at their premise.
• Must be able to work flexible hours that may include: weekends and after hours.

• Contributes to team effort by performing other related duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of City Code of Ordinance of the City.
• Knowledge of the department's rules, regulations, policies, and procedures as well as relevant training programs and content.
• Knowledge of the geography of the city, proximate incorporated areas and the City's road network.
• Ability to understand and carry out moderately complex oral and written instructions.
• Ability to enforce ordinances awith firmness, tact, and impartiality, and to deal courteously with the public.
• Ability to keep records and make reports from such records.
• Ability to input, access, and retrieve data from a computer.

• Operate department vehicle, two way radio, mobile telephone, video camera/equipment, Animal Control catch pole, shovel, rake, traffic cones, iPad, Microsoft Offfice as well as other reporting programs and apps.

• May be required to work in high or dangerous places.
• Work may involve potentially life threatening exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, noise, chemicals/gases, contagious diseases, airborne particles/pathogens, and/or physical trauma.
• May often be exposed to uncomfortable temperatures, humidity, noise, chemicals/gases, contagious diseases, airborne particles/pathogens, and/or physical trauma.
• May be required to work in confined spaces.
