Baptist Health is hiring a Patient Access Representative II to join our Patient Access team at Baptist Jacksonville (Downtown) in Jacksonville, FL. This is a part-time opportunity. Scheduled shift, Sunday-Tuesday from 5:30pm-1:00am
The Patient Access team plays a critical role in creating a positive patient experience while ensuring accurate registration, regulatory compliance, and efficient access to care. This role is ideal for an experienced patient access professional who is comfortable working across multiple systems, supporting patients and visitors, and maintaining accuracy and compliance in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Patient Access Representative IIJob Responsibilities:
- Register patients accurately and efficiently using multiple systems and interfaces
- Maintain cross-training to support multiple patient access areas as needed
- Provide service excellence to patients and visitors through face-to-face and telephonic encounters
- Contribute to Patient Access Services (PAS) goals, including collections, palm scanning, and other departmental initiatives
- Maintain knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations, including EMTALA, AHCA, and JCAHO requirements
- Maintain professional relationships with clinical and non-clinical team members
- Ensure required patient consent forms and compliance documentation are accurately completed
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
Experience:
- 1-2 years Customer Service Experience (required)
- 1-2 years Insurance Experience (required)
- 1-2 years Healthcare Experience (required)
- Experience with patient registration and multiple healthcare systems (preferred)
- High School Diploma (required)
- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science (BA/BS) (preferred)
- Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) (preferred)
- Registers patients accurately and efficiently
- Utilization of multiple systems and interfaces
- Cross-Trained in order to work in multiple patient access areas
- Maintains service excellence to patients and visitors for face-to-face and telephonic encounters
- Contributes to PAS Goals as defined annually (Collections, Palm Scanning, etc.)
- Possesses a strong understanding of State and Federal regulations including EMTALA, AHCA, and JCAHO
- Maintains a professional relationship with all clinical and non-clinical team members
- Able to articulate compliance documentation and ensure completion of required patient consent forms
- Maintains patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
