Position: Registered Nurse - Float Pool - Full-Time

Role Overview

The registered nurse provides independent, comprehensive care in emergency and clinical settings, demonstrating clinical competence, critical thinking, and effective delegation. They utilize the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation to address patients' physical, emotional, cultural, and social needs, ensuring safe, evidence-based practices. The nurse manages patient flow, anticipates admissions/discharges, and oversees unit operations, including staffing and equipment maintenance. They document patient information accurately, administer medications per protocol, and educate patients and families.

Emphasis is placed on patient safety, quality care, regulatory compliance, and effective communication across care teams.

Responsibilities Include
  • Providing routine and complex nursing care aligned with treatment plans.
  • Using critical thinking to develop and modify individualized care plans.
  • Monitoring patient responses and documenting findings thoroughly.
  • Administering medications safely and educating patients and families.
  • Ensuring unit safety, proper equipment use, and adherence to policies.
  • Participating in quality improvement and regulatory compliance activities.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum 2 years of combined experience in emergency and another clinical specialty; 5 years preferred.
  • BSN preferred; RN licensure in the applicable state or a compact license.
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS; PALS within 30 days; TNCC if applicable.
  • Strong knowledge of health information documentation, medical equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Ability to adapt to unit-specific needs and demonstrate flexibility.
