The Impact Investment Readiness in Indonesia (IIRI) program is a five-year initiative funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and implemented by Impact Investment Exchange (IIX). The program aims to strengthen Indonesia’s gender-responsive and climate-smart impact investing ecosystem, with a specific focus on unlocking private capital for women-owned, women-led, and women-benefit ting Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises, collectively referred throughout this document as Women-focused MSMEs (WMSMEs), in underserved and outer-island provinces.

IIX is seeking a dynamic and strategic Country Director to lead and grow its presence in Indonesia — one of Southeast Asia’s most important markets for impact investing and sustainable finance. This role carries dual seniority: the Country Director is the most senior IIX representative in Indonesia, responsible for the entire country operations, and simultaneously serves as the senior-most person accountable for all Impact Investment Readiness for Indonesia (IIRI) program activities — owning its governance, delivery, and reporting from end to end.

Beyond IIRI, the role drives business development and forges high-value partnerships across the private and development sectors. Success means a thriving Indonesia office that consistently delivers measurable impact, secures new mandates, and builds a team that runs with accountability and ownership.

• Develop and execute a strategic business plan to expand IIX’s operations and presence in Indonesia, aligned with regional and global goals on impact investing, sustainable finance, gender-lens investing, and climate action.
• Identify and establish high-value partnerships with investors, corporations, government agencies, financial institutions, and development partners to deepen IIX’s engagement and visibility in Indonesia.
• Represent IIX in high-level forums, stakeholder meetings, and policy discussions on sustainable finance, gender-lens investing, and impact investing in Indonesia.

• Drive business development across the private and development sectors, generating revenue through advisory services, technical assistance programs, and investment facilitation aligned with IIX’s capital market activities.
• Build and nurture relationships with senior decision-makers in corporate, financial, and development institutions to drive client acquisition, retention, and expansion across Indonesia.
• Lead revenue-generating proposal development, bids, and contract negotiations; secure new mandates that advance IIX’s mission and revenue growth in the country.

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the Jakarta office — ensuring efficient delivery across all Indonesian work streams, maintaining IIX’s quality standards, governance protocols, and risk management frameworks.
