Head of Finance - Chemical Trading - Jakarta Pusat
The Head of Finance / Head of Commercial Finance is responsible for leading the end-to-end finance and commercial finance function of the chemical trading business, covering procurement financing, pricing and margin management, sales finance, cash flow, credit control, and commercial negotiations. This role plays a critical strategic and operational role in supporting profitable growth, liquidity, and risk management across supplier and customer transactions.
Key Responsibilities1. End-to-End Finance & Commercial Management
Lead and manage the full finance cycle from purchasing raw/basic materials from suppliers to selling chemical products through distributors or direct customers.
Ensure accurate financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring aligned with trading activities.
Monitor and analyze product margins, pricing structures, and profitability by customer, distributor, and product line.
Manage financial aspects of procurement including payment terms, working capital planning, and supplier financing structures.
Actively support and participate in commercial negotiations with suppliers
, including pricing, credit terms, volume rebates, and contract conditions.
Assess supplier risk and ensure compliance with internal financial controls and policies.
Partner closely with Sales and Commercial teams to structure competitive yet profitable pricing models.
Provide financial input for distributor agreements, customer contracts, and special commercial arrangements.
Support deal structuring for large or strategic customers, ensuring acceptable margins and risk exposure.
4. Cash Flow, Credit Control & CollectionTake full ownership of cash flow management, liquidity planning, and working capital optimization.
Establish and enforce credit policies
, credit limits, and customer risk assessments.
Lead the accounts receivable and collection process
, including direct engagement with customers to ensure timely payment.
Handle escalated collection cases and maintain strong customer relationships while protecting company cash position.
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly management reports, financial statements, and commercial performance reports.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal governance requirements.
Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and banks as required.
6. Leadership & Stakeholder ManagementLead, coach, and develop the finance team to build strong commercial finance capability.
Act as a key business partner to the CEO, Commercial Director, Sales, and Operations teams.
Communicate financial insights clearly to both internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, distributors, banks, and auditors.
Key Requirements Education & Professional BackgroundBachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (master’s degree or professional certification such as CPA/CA is an advantage).
Minimum 10–15 years of experience in finance roles, with significant exposure to trading, distribution, or chemical / industrial sectors

Strong background in commercial finance, working capital management, and cash flow control

Strong commercial acumen with deep understanding of trading margins, pricing, and supply chain finance
.
Proven experience in negotiation with suppliers and customers
, particularly related to pricing and payment terms.
Hands-on experience managing collections and credit risk
.
Excellent communication skills, able to interact confidently with senior management, suppliers, and customers.
High level of integrity, resilience, and ability to operate in a fast-paced trading environment.
