Investment Risk Associate

Hyre Wise is partnering with a large private equity fund to appoint a new professional to join its Investment Risk team. The successful candidate will work closely with both the Portfolio Managers and the broader Investment team, supporting pre-investment risk assessment and ongoing risk oversight across the existing portfolio

• Perform deep-dive risk analysis including stress testing, scenario analysis, liquidity assessments and factor-based risk reviews
• Partner with investment teams to challenge portfolio construction, and risk positioning
• Investigate and elevate breaches, exceptions and material risk events where appropriate
• Support the ongoing enhancement of investment risk frameworks, methodologies and controls
• Assist in the development of risk analytics, reporting automation and data-driven insights
• Monitor macroeconomic developments, market trends and regulatory changes impacting portfolio risk

The role would suit a professional with prior experience in investment risk, portfolio analytics, or asset management oversight, ideally gained within a private equity fund, asset manager, or Big Four advisory firm

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or a related discipline
• 3–7 years’ experience within investment risk, market risk, portfolio analytics, asset management or a related function
• Strong understanding of investment products, portfolio construction and risk metrics including VaR, stress testing, sensitivities and liquidity measures
• Exposure to institutional or asset management environments preferred
• Advanced analytical and problem‑solving capability with high attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex concepts to senior and non‑technical stakeholders
• CFA or FRM qualifications (completed or in progress) are advantageous
