Role Purpose

The ERA Finance Analyst is responsible for executing and owning Energy Reporting & Accounting (ERA) activities within a managed services environment supporting energy, refinery, and hydrocarbon operations.

This role ensures accurate inventory valuation, margin reporting, reconciliations, and financial controls execution in compliance with accounting standards and internal governance requirements. Depending on experience level, the Analyst may perform standard transactional activities or independently manage complex valuation, reconciliation, and audit-sensitive processes.

The role operates within defined financial control frameworks and contributes directly to financial integrity, close stability, and audit readiness.

A strong ERA Finance Analyst:

• Ensures inventory valuation outputs are accurate and explainable
• Executes reconciliations with minimal open items
• Maintains audit-ready documentation at all times
• Identifies discrepancies early and performs root-cause analysis
• Operates confidently in SAP Finance (mandatory)
• Maintains discipline under month-end close pressure
• Reduces escalations through technical competence and ownership

Key Responsibilities

1. Inventory Valuation & Margin Accounting

• Execute stock valuation activities including FIFO, NRV, CCS, COGS, GINI, and GRANI (based on experience level).
• Prepare and validate valuation schedules and supporting calculations.
• Support margin segmentation and loss/gain analysis.
• Ensure alignment between operational movements and financial valuation outcomes.
• Provide structured documentation supporting valuation outputs.

(Complex valuation methodologies expected at Senior Analyst capability level.)

2. Physical vs Book Reconciliation

• Perform reconciliation between physical inventory and book records.
• Validate completeness of material movements before reconciliation.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in coordination with operations and third-party depots.
• Ensure reconciliation evidence is retained and audit-ready.
• Support periodic and month-end reconciliation cycles.

3. Inventory GL & Journal Entries

• Analyze inventory GL movements and key balance drivers.
• Prepare and post journal entries in SAP in line with FCM and internal controls.
• Support SOAR balance sheet reconciliations and update reconciliation tools.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of supporting documentation.

(Independent GL driver analysis expected at Senior Analyst level.)

• Apply contract and pricing logic to valuation and accounting outcomes.
• Trace document flows across GSAP contracts, pricing formulas, and settlement logic.
• Validate data sources supporting accounting entries.
• Ensure accounting outcomes reflect commercial agreements accurately.

(Deeper contract interpretation expected at Senior Analyst level.)

5. Controls, Compliance & Audit

• Execute SOX, RDS, FCM, and internal control requirements.
• Retain evidence and ensure compliance with IFRS, OMP policies, and internal standards.
• Support internal and external audit activities with reconciliations and explanations.
• Ensure all ERA outputs are defensible and audit-ready.

6. Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement

• Identify valuation, reconciliation, or reporting discrepancies.
• Perform structured root cause analysis.
• Escalate complex issues with clear documentation and recommended actions.
• Propose process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and control stability.
• Support governance forums and close discussions as required.

Education Requirement

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree (S1) in Accounting or Finance.
• Master’s degree (S2) is an advantage.

Recommended Certifications

• CPA / CA / ACCA
• Indonesian Registered Accountant (Ak.)
• Inventory or Energy Accounting training preferred

Skills & Experience Required

This role is designed for finance professionals operating within structured financial control environments.

The ideal candidate will have:

• 2–7 years of experience in Energy Accounting, Inventory Accounting, Hydrocarbon Accounting, or Financial Reporting.
• Experience in shared services or managed services environments preferred.
• Mandatory hands‑on SAP Finance experience.
• Strong understanding of:
  • Inventory valuation methodologies
  • Journal entries and GL accounting
  • Balance sheet reconciliation
  • Month‑end close processes
  • Exposure to margin analysis and energy accounting is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability.
• High ownership mindset and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently under tight reporting deadlines.
• Fluent English communication (spoken and written) – Mandatory.
