A career within the Corporate Tax team with specialization in the Pillar‑Two expertise will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients meet their tax obligations while managing the impact tax has on their business. In this role, you will play a critical part in assisting multinational clients in understanding, planning, and complying with the new global minimum tax rules under the OECD Pillar Two initiative.

You will focus on helping businesses navigate the complexities surrounding the Pillar‑Two rules, ensuring the client’s internal reporting system’s readiness for Pillar‑Two tax compliance, and advising on the impact of the Pillar‑Two implementation to optimise their investment returns.

About the Job

The Pillar‑Two framework is a whole new set of complex tax rules which is often heavily linked with a requirement to possess a strong understanding of accounting concepts. As a Senior Associate specializing in this area, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping clients navigate the complex rules from preparation to execution.

Professional Skills and Responsibilities
  • Develop new skills outside of your comfort zone.
  • Analyze complex ideas or proposals and build a range of meaningful recommendations.
  • Use multiple sources of information including broader stakeholder views to develop solutions and recommendations.
  • Use data and insights to inform conclusions and support decision‑making.
  • Develop a point of view on key global trends, and how they impact clients.
  • Simplify complex messages, highlighting and summarising key points.
  • Uphold the firm’s code of ethics and business conduct.
  • Review client’s accounting system and internal control system, including identifying initiatives to improve the finance function operation up to the implementation process.
  • Liaise with the internal and external auditor in the audit field work.
Pre Engagement
  • Prepare risk management procedures, i.e. new client questionnaire, independence checking, assignment acceptance, relationship check, engagement letter. This preparation can be delegated to an associate, while the Senior Associate reviews and ensures minimum quality standards.
  • Participate in the discussion with the team about the big picture of the project.
  • Help the manager scope both scope of work and scope of exclusion.
  • Estimate fees for the project, e.g. fee for each team member.
  • Organize the timeline.
  • Manage workload between senior associate and associate/junior team members.
  • Prepare or review data requests.
  • Review associate/junior team member’s work.
  • Report to the manager for review.
Engagement
  • Participate in meetings with the client and prepare the relevant minutes of meeting (MOM).
  • Brief associate/junior team members about the tasks that will be delegated.
  • Mentor and monitor associate/junior team members in doing the tasks.
  • Monitor provision of data from the client.
  • Monitor timeline and work progress.
  • Research regulation and other supporting data.
  • Review work done by the associate/junior team member, e.g. calculation, wording, regulation.
  • Prepare or review deliverables (e.g. report/memo, calculation working paper, draft tax returns).
  • Report to the manager/senior manager/director.
  • Discuss with the superior about any issues.
  • Submit tax return to the tax office (for compliance only).
Post Engagement
  • Prepare billing description, i.e. compile timesheet, calculate recovery in percentage, and generate invoice.
  • Organize documents that will be filed.
  • Delegate filing task to associate.
  • Monitor filing and cross‑reference.
