Sony Pictures Entertainment is seeking a Senior Finance & Accounting Analyst to support global finance operations across Record‑to‑Report activities, financial close, reporting, reconciliations, compliance, and operational accounting processes. This role sits within Global Finance Operations, a team focused on delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial information while driving process improvement, standardization, automation, and operational efficiency across the organization. The Senior Analyst will partner with Finance, Accounting, Business Operations, and external service provider teams to support monthly close activities, ensure compliance with finance policies and controls, resolve operational issues, and contribute to ongoing transformation initiatives.

Month‑End Close and Reporting
  • Execute month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close activities across multiple business areas and entities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion and review assigned Record‑to‑Report deliverables, including journal entries, reconciliations, supporting schedules, and close documentation.
  • Perform financial reporting activities and operational accounting support.
  • Analyse reporting issues, investigate variances, and help resolve close‑related matters in a timely manner.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in line with company standards and reporting requirements.
Accounting Operations and Compliance
  • Ensure assigned activities comply with company finance policies, accounting procedures, internal controls, and operational standards.
  • Actively participate in audit activities, including preparing documentation, explanations, and required schedules.
  • Monitor assigned processes for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, operational issues, and process exceptions.
  • Escalate risks, delays, or control issues as appropriate.
  • Coordinate work across internal finance teams and outsourced service providers to ensure effective service delivery.
Process Improvement and Automation
  • Participate in process improvement, simplification, standardization, and automation initiatives.
  • Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Execute and support the implementation of process enhancements, technology‑enabled solutions, and operational changes.
  • Execute activities related to process documentation, standard operating procedures, and training materials.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across finance operations.
Cross‑Functional Partnership
  • Partner with Finance, Accounting, Global Finance Operations, business stakeholders, and third‑party service providers.
  • Collaborate with teams across regions and functions to ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment with operational standards.
  • Provide reporting, analysis, and operational support to managers and leadership teams.
  • Build strong working relationships and support effective communication across global teams.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, RTR, finance operations, or financial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and IFRS.
  • Experience in multinational corporate, SSC, or BPO environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems.
Nice to Have
  • Experience working with outsourced service providers.
  • Experience supporting internal and external audits.
  • Experience participating in automation, process migration, or finance transformation initiatives.
  • Experience supporting multiple legal entities, countries, or business lines.
