- Lead month-end close and prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements
- Own cost accounting, including job costing, WIP, and inventory valuation
- Manage AP, AR, payroll, general ledger, and internal controls
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
- Analyze margins using standard costing and variance analysis
- Partner with operations on manufacturing finance, labor efficiency, utilization, and margins
- Support pricing, quoting, and operational decision-making
- Maintain and improve ERP system processes
- Develop KPI reporting and management dashboards
- Oversee insurance programs, including coordination with brokers, renewals, certificates, and claims support
- Ensure timely completion of insurance-related filings and reporting requirements
- Satisfy government, regulatory, and other required financial or legal filings
- Support contract administration and compliance related to financial and insurance obligations
- Coordinate with external advisors on compliance, reporting, and risk management matter
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 7+ years of experience as a Controller or Senior Accountant in manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, job costing, and WIP
- Experience owning month-end close and financial reporting
- Comfort operating in a hands-on, owner-operated environment
- CPA or CMA
- Experience in job shop or metal fabrication
- Exposure to multi-entity or consolidated accounting
- Experience overseeing insurance programs or compliance reporting
- Interest in progressing to a CFO role
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
