hereby announces a competition
for the post of an Assistant for Research and Teaching (F/M) – 1 FTE
at the Institute of Computing Science (Division of Data Processing Technologies)
in the field of Engineering and technology
in the discipline:
Information and communication technology.
The competition may be attended by applicants who meet the requirements specified in the Law on Higher Education and Science Act of 20 July 2018 (Dz. U. 2018, item 1668 as amended), the Statute of the Poznan University of Technology and Ordinance No.66 of the Rector of the Poznan University of Technology of 20 November 2020 on the rules of employment.
The candidates should:
- hold the academic title of MSc., Eng.,
- enjoy at least a good reputation during studies (grade point average, participation in science clubs, other activities),
- predisposition to didactic work,
- ability to teach, or to quickly prepare to teach, courses related to: (1) database systems, (2) data processing and data mining technologies, and (3) programming languages.
- fluency in English, with the ability to teach courses in English-language degree programmes,
- knowledge of data engineering concepts, including data integration architecture, data quality, ETL, and data warehouses; cloud computing platforms, such as Skywise, Azure SQL, and AWS; data analysis and visualization tools, including Power BI, Tableau, Qlik Sense, dashboard development, and KPI monitoring; as well as Dev Ops tools and technologies, including Docker, Jenkins, Git, Jira, and Confluence,
- knowledge of the LaTeX document preparation system and/or the Microsoft Office suite,
- knowledge of general management of Windows, Linux, macOS and devices,
- specialization in the fields of database systems, data warehousing, and data integration,
- experience in acquiring and/or carrying out research and didactic projects is welcome,
- scientific experience confirmed by publications is welcome,
- previous industry experience is considered an asset,
- for candidates from outside Europe: completion of at least one year of study in a European country and at least one year of residence in a country other than their country of origin.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation and delivery of laboratory classes, tutorials, and project-based courses in the degree programmes of Computing, Cybersecurity, and/or Artificial Intelligence,
- Conducting research in the discipline of Computer Science and Telecommunications, resulting in scholarly publications and/or patents. Potential research areas include: (1) methods for data quality improvement and management, (2) graph data processing, (3) data integration architectures for smart agriculture, and (4) optimization of data integration processes,
- Acquisition of research and/or teaching projects,
- Active involvement in organizational activities within the Institute of Computer Science.
