Skills/Qualifications

Have at least a master's degree in landscape architecture, horticulture, agriculture, environmental protection or related fields, have scientific achievements in the form of at least two publications that have been published in a peer-reviewed scientific journal indexed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, have at least one year of experience in teaching at the university level, have experience in fieldwork, have documented at least a good command of English and the ability to write scientific papers in English, confirmed by relevant publications, have knowledge in the field of phytosociology and ecology, in particular in the field of anthropogenic transformations of vegetation and in the field of designing urban green areas in the aspect of adaptation to climate change, confirmed by relevant publications, and have a fluent knowledge of Polish at a level that allows conducting classes with students in the initial years of studies, obtain a positive opinion of the committee responsible for teaching on the teaching activities conducted, and in the case of persons applying for employment and not being employees of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences - obtain a positive opinion of the committee for a scientific paper presented at a seminar organized in the Department of Environmental Protection and Dendrology.

The candidate sought should also possess the following characteristics:

  • Practical knowledge of field research methodology in the field of ecology and phytosociology,
  • Knowledge of Polish flora, enabling the identification of rare species,
  • Knowledge of Invasive Alien Species (IAS) occurring in Poland, including the legal framework for their control,
  • Knowledge of basic microscopic techniques,
  • Experience in conducting research on flora and vegetation in urban environments,
  • Computer skills in programs enabling the creation of spatial data - QGIS, and MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams, MS Excel, and the use of computer databases and cloud-based resources.
  • Ability to work in a team and organize work time flexibly,
  • Accuracy and thoroughness,
  • Ability to write highly-rated scientific publications in English.
  • The candidate sought should also have the following skills: teamwork, flexible time management, and computer skills in office suite programs (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams, MS Excel).
