Skills/Qualifications

  • Ph.D. and completed Master's degree in horticulture or agriculture;
  • Fluent use of Polish and English to a level allowing for teaching in these languages, writing scientific publications, and giving oral presentations;
  • experience in teaching (in Polish and English) at a university;
  • experience in implementing research projects on wild-growing and cultivated species of medicinal and aromatic plants;
  • laboratory skills, including proven knowledge of liquid chromatography techniques (completed courses/training) and the chemical and physicochemical analyses used in the quality assessment of herbal raw materials;
  • knowledge of physicochemical methods for evaluation of herbal raw materials and products;
  • active participation in domestic and foreign scientific conferences;
  • proven completion of an internship in the field of herbal production;
  • very good knowledge of the MS Office package and a statistical analysis program.
  • Conducting scientific research, including applying for external funding to carry out scientific research and preparing scientific publications;
  • Operating laboratory equipment;
  • Delivering lectures and classes in Polish and English;
  • Supervising bachelor’s and master’s theses;
  • Participating in organizational activities for the benefit of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences
  • Improving professional competencies.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants for the position must meet the requirements specified in Article 113 of th Applicants for the position must meet the requirements specified in Article 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668, as amended) and in the Statute of Warsaw University of Life Sciences – SGGW, Section VIII – Employees of SGGW.

Candidates are required to submit the following documents:

  • application for employment addressed to the Rector of Warsaw University of Life Sciences – SGGW;
  • curriculum vitae including professional experience and scientific achievements;
  • list of published papers and papers accepted for publication;
  • reference letter or reference letters;
  • copy of a document confirming the award of a doctoral degree;
  • The candidate should obtain a positive opinion from the committee responsible for teaching on the teaching activities conducted. In the case of applicants who are not employees of Warsaw University of Life Sciences – SGGW, the candidate should obtain a positive opinion from the committee for a scientific presentation delivered at a seminar organised by the unit in which they are applying for employment.
