VICE-RECTOR IN CHARGE OF THE SCHOOL OF NATURAL SCIENCES AT THE ADAM MICKIEWICZ UNIVERSITY, POZNAN ANNOUNCES A COMPETITION for the position of ASSISTANT PROFESSOR in the Institute of Environmental Biology at the Faculty of Biology.

• PhD in biological sciences or related;
• experience in research in molecular phylogenetics of animals;
• publication record in recognized scientific journals, including leading journals specializing in phylogenetics;
• experience in teaching at the academic level.

Eligibility criteria

• scientific achievements documented by publications and their compliance with the research area competition requirements (0-20 pts);
• research projects managing (0-5 pts);
• participation in postdoctoral internships (0-5 pts);
• participation in research projects; participation in trainings and workshops; participation in conferences and scientific seminars (0-5 pts);
• experience in teaching at the academic level; compliance of the candidate's teaching skills with the didactic activity of the Faculty of Biology; readiness to conduct classes in Polish and English (0-5 pts).

Selection process

• competition committee begins working no later than 14 days after the deadline for submission of documents;
• formal evaluation of submitted proposals;
• call to provide additional or missing documents if necessary;
• selection of candidates for the interview stage;
• interviews for candidates who meet the formal requirements;
• the committee has the right to request external reviews of candidates' work or to ask candidates to conduct teaching assignments with an opportunity for student evaluation;
• the chair of the competition committee announces the results and informs the candidates; this information will include justification with a reference to candidates' strengths and weaknesses; submitted documents will be sent back to candidates (not applicable for documents sent by e-mail).
