The Academy of Zamość (Akademia Zamojska) is looking for an Assistant Professor in Social Sciences (Sociology)

Research Field Sociology Education Level PhD or equivalent

Skills/Qualifications

• hold a PhD in sociology,
• have experience in conducting research in the fields of sociology, education, upbringing and culture,
• have at least 10 years’ experience as an academic teacher delivering courses in, amongst others: introduction to sociology, sociology of upbringing, education and schooling, modern management methods and techniques, general sociology and disability, strategic management, public relations, and undergraduate and postgraduate seminars,
• have an academic record: active participation in academic conferences, publications in the fields of sociology, education, upbringing and culture,
• have experience in implementing ministerial and international research projects,
• have experience in organising conferences of national and international scope,
• have experience as a supervisor of bachelor’s and master’s theses,
• have a command of English at B2 level.

• The candidate should demonstrate positive personal qualities, above all creativity, responsibility, conscientiousness and diligence, good communication skills, a willingness to further their knowledge, the ability to work in national and international teams, as well as kindness and loyalty towards the team in which they will be employed, and availability.

Specific Requirements

The competition is open to candidates who meet the conditions set out in the Act of 20 July 2018 on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws 2024, item 1571, as amended) in the Statutes of the Zamość Academy and the Rules of Procedure of the Zamość Academy.

IV. Terms of employment

• employment under a fixed-term contract;
• working hours – full-time.

• a document confirming the holder’s doctoral degree,
• documents confirming completion of further training and professional development courses,
• a certificate confirming professional competence and experience as an academic teacher in delivering, amongst other things, courses on: an introduction to sociology, the sociology of upbringing, education and schooling, modern management methods and techniques, general sociology and disability, strategic management, public relations, and undergraduate and postgraduate seminars,
• a list of the most significant academic achievements,
• documents confirming experience in conducting academic research,
• other documents confirming the qualifications and skills required for the post being advertised,
