- Completion of second-cycle higher education studies in history or related fields;
- Holding a doctoral degree in the discipline of history;
- Documented scholarly output in the field of nineteenth- and early twentieth-century history, participation in international conferences, and publications in Polish and foreign journals;
- Knowledge of a modern foreign language at a minimum B2 level;
- Participation in project teams connected with conducting scholarly research, especially in projects funded by the National Science Centre (NCN), the National Programme for the Development of Humanities (NPRH), or European funds;
- Experience in higher education teaching;
- Experience working in Polish and foreign archives and libraries holding Polish and foreign archival collections;
- Submission of a written declaration of readiness to submit statements in accordance with the Law on Higher Education and Science: a statement authorising the Institute of History of the University of Opole to include the person among employees conducting scientific activity (“N number”) and to report the employee’s scientific achievements for the purposes of evaluating scientific activity.

Skills/Qualifications
- Conducting teaching activities: seminars, classes and lectures for students of History and HiT
40+, as well as classes in history and related humanities disciplines for students of other organisational units of the University of Opole; - Diligent and timely completion of documentation related to the classes taught;
- Active research activity: publishing monographs and scholarly articles in highly ranked and reputable journals in quantities sufficient to fulfil the research publication slots assigned to the employee, in accordance with declarations on inclusion in the “N number” for the discipline of history and on reporting the employee’s scholarly achievements for the purposes of evaluating scientific activity;
- Participation in international scholarly conferences and delivering papers prepared in a foreign language;
- Applying for national research grants awarded by the National Science Centre (NCN) or under the National Programme for the Development of Humanities (NPRH), as well as for European grants;
- Active involvement in the internationalisation of research results produced at the Institute of History of the University of Opole;
- Active participation in the work of the Institute of History and its constituent units, with particular emphasis on the Programme Council and collegial bodies established to assess the quality of education;
- Organisational activity on behalf of the Institute of History and the University of Opole;
- Active participation in activities promoting the University of Opole and the Institute of History;
- Active participation in activities promoting and popularising history, acting as an employee of the Institute of History.
- Availability and readiness to work in a team;
- Experience in international scholarly cooperation;
- Completed internships, scholarships, or other forms of scholarly activity at research institutions in Poland and abroad;
- Research conducted in the field of the history of Silesia in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries;
- Management of project teams connected with conducting scholarly research, especially projects funded by the National Science Centre (NCN), the National Programme for the Development of Humanities (NPRH), or European funds;
