COMPETITION NOTICE

The Rector of the University of Applied Sciences in Racibórz hereby announces a competition for the position of English Language Lecturer at the Institute of Foreign Languages and Translation Studies
.

Applicants may enter the competition provided that they meet the requirements specified in Article 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (consolidated text: Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, as amended).

Skills/Qualifications

Qualification Requirements

• A Master’s degree in English Philology or an equivalent degree obtained abroad (Master of Arts) in the field of linguistics or translation studies.
• Proficient command of English, both spoken and written, at the C2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), or native-speaker competence in English.
• Documented teaching and organizational achievements.
• Experience in written and/or oral translation will be considered an asset.
• Practical experience in the use of CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) and MT (Machine Translation) tools.
• Professional experience gained outside the higher education system (e.g., cooperation with companies or enterprises, cooperation with cultural institutions, conference presentations, popular science publications).
• Willingness to pursue academic and professional development.
• Copy of the diploma confirming the applicant’s education.
• Copies of other documents confirming the required qualifications.
• Declaration confirming compliance with the requirements specified in Article 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (consolidated text: Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, as amended) (form available on the University website under:(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). ).

• Employment will commence on 1 October 2026 under an employment contract for three-quarters of a full-time position (0.75 FTE).
• Submitted documents may be collected after the announcement of the competition results until 10 October 2026
