Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Information Technology, Lublin University of Technology is hereby announcing an open competition for the position of Assistant Professor (research-teaching staff group) at the Department of Applied Mathematics.
- conducting research in the field of mathematics, applications of mathematical methods or modern data science,
- applying for national or international research grants,
- delivering academic-level courses in mathematics or computer science,
- participating in organizational duties within the department and the faculty,
- preparing course documentation, e.g. syllabi and lesson plans,
- grading students’ assignments and papers, giving them feedback, and archiving these materials,
- entering data into the University’s IT system,
- participating in the thesis-supervision (diploma) process,
- holding consultations with students,
- organising and taking part in initiatives run by the university, the faculty and the department,
- participating in activities that promote the university, the faculty and the department.
Required documents:
- application for employment addressed to the Rector of Lublin University of Technology (written application for the competition),
- certified copies of diplomas confirming the academic degree (with certified translation into Polish and a certificate of equivalence if the diploma was issued in a language other than Polish),
- copies of documents confirming scientific, didactic, and organizational achievements, as well as professional qualifications and additional competences,
- information on organizational and scientific activities as well as didactic experience,
- candidate’s declaration that Lublin University of Technology will be their primary place of employment (form attached),
- consent clause for processing of personal data for the purpose of the recruitment process (form attached),
- information from the National Criminal Register regarding offences specified in Chapters XIX and XXV, Articles 189a and 207 of the Penal Code and the Act of 29 July 2005 on counteracting drug addiction, and, in the case of persons holding citizenship of a country other than the Republic of Poland, information from the criminal register of that country or statements referred to in Article 21(5)-(7) of the Act of 13 May 2016 on counteracting the threat of sexual offences and on the protection of minors (instruction attached),
- statement that the candidate has read the Regulations on Reporting Violations of the Law at Lublin University of Technology (form attached).
The information referred to in Article 18 [3ca] § 1 of the Labor Code (regarding the initial salary amount) is available in the Lublin University of Technology Employee Compensation Regulations (Order No. R-4/2026 of the Rector of the Lublin University of Technology dated February 2, 2026, regarding the introduction of the Lublin University of Technology Employee Compensation Regulations).
- PhD degree in a discipline within the field of exact sciences in mathematics, physics or computer science;
- publications in the field of modern data analysis methods
- teaching experience in delivering university-level courses;
- fluent command of Polish, both spoken and written;
- fluent command of English, both spoken and written;
- predisposition for scientific and didactic work;
- readiness for scientific work in disciplines: mathematics or information technology and telecommunication
