Research and Teaching Assistant (M/F)

Skills/Qualifications

The competition is open to persons who meet the requirements of Article 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018. Law on Higher Education and Science.

• Qualification requirements:

– a college degree (preferred fields of study: physical therapy, medicine, or health sciences),

– license to practice medicine (if applicable),

– research output—publications with an Impact Factor (IF) or a total ministerial score of ≥ 120 over the last 2 calendar years (preferably in journals listed in the JCR),

– participation in research projects, co-authorship of scientific publications, and data analysis,

– academic activity confirmed by participation in conferences,

– experience in teaching students,

– involvement in organizing the teaching process (e.g., coordinating courses, supervising students),

– ability to work in a team and organize teaching activities,

– employment in a research-and-teaching position or a related role,

– practical experience in the field of physical therapy or medicine,

– proficiency in English sufficient to utilize scientific literature and publish,

– strong motivation for academic development (e.g., preparation for doctoral studies),

– continuing education in medicine or a related field is encouraged,

– for foreign nationals, proficiency in spoken and written Polish is  spoken and written

Specific Requirements

• Required documents:
• a written declaration of will to participate in the competition, addressed to the Rector,
• personal questionnaire for the person applying for employment,
• declaration of no criminal record,
  – a plan for the development,
• copies of documents confirming education and professional qualifications, in particular: higher education diploma, license to practice medicine, certificate of recognition of a foreign diploma as equivalent to a Polish diploma (if applicable),
• other documents confirming your qualifications (a list of publications with IF scores, ministerial scores, certificates held, etc.)

Eligibility criteria

• Required statements:
• statement of consent to process the personal data,
• a statement declaring that if the applicant wins the competition, the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice will be the primary place of employment , according to the Law on Higher Education and Science,
• statement of:
• having full legal capacity,
• enjoying full public rights,
• not being convicted of an intentional crime or intentional fiscal offence by a valid sentence,
• not being punished with a disciplinary penalty referred to in Article 276(1)(7) and (8) of the Law on Higher Education and Science;
• declaration of no other citizenship than one of the Republic of Poland and no residence in countries other than the Republic of Poland and country of citizenship during the last 20 years, pursuant to art. 21 par. 4 and 5 of the Act on the prevention of sexual violence and protection of the minors.
