• 1) Delivering teaching in accordance with the needs of the Institute of Management and Social Affairs at the University of the National Education Commission, Kraków;
• 2) conducting research and scientific development in the fields of social sciences, security studies, crisis management, civil protection, emergency services or public administration;
• 3) publishing research findings in national or international academic journals and monographs;
• 4) participating in scientific, research, educational, expert or community projects carried out by the University;
• 5) actively participating in academic and academic-practical conferences;
• 6) participating in the organisational life of the academic community, including organisational activities for the Institute of Management and Social Affairs at UKEN;
• 7) implementation of tasks assigned by superiors.

Skills/Qualifications

• 1) Holding a Master's degree in Engineering or a professional Master’s degree in a discipline or field related to safety, crisis management, civil protection or emergency response;
• 2) documented teaching qualifications preparing the candidate for teaching duties, in particular completion of postgraduate studies in teacher training or teaching qualifications;
• 3) teaching experience at a higher education institution or a teaching unit under the Ministry of the Interior and Administration, in particular in the field of vocational education, professional development or preparing students for vocational examinations;
• 4) experience of working in public institutions;
• 5) experience in managing or coordinating the work of an organisational unit, a training centre, a teaching team or staff carrying out training and organisational tasks in the field of crisis management;
• 6) substantive expertise in at least several of the following areas: fire safety, evacuation, civil protection, civil defence, crisis management, public safety, the operation of emergency services, and health and safety at work;
• 7) completion of an MBA (Master of Business Administration) or equivalent postgraduate studies in organisational management;
• 8) completion of postgraduate studies or courses in the management of organisational units within public administration, health and safety at work, or other areas related to the Institute’s profile;
• 9) a documented record of academic or popular science output in the fields of social sciences, security studies, crisis management, civil protection, emergency services, social policy or new technologies in security management;
• 10) active participation in academic or academic-practical conferences on security, crisis management, civil protection, emergency services, social policy, cyber-security or public administration;
• 11) documented aptitude for the role of academic teacher, confirmed by a reference from the head of the unit, a line manager from a previous or current place of employment, or another reference document;
• 12) fluency in spoken and written Polish at B2 level.

Practical experience in managing a training or educational institution, participation in rescue or crisis response operations, experience in community prevention, collaboration with public administration bodies, and a record of publications relating to the State Fire Service, the protection of cultural heritage, civil protection, civil defence, crisis management, social security or the use of new technologies in crisis communication.

Additional requirements for candidates entering the competition:

• 1) the ability to use information technology in academic teaching, organisational work and communication with students;
• 2) a willingness to deliver teaching in areas consistent with the Institute’s profile, in particular in the fields of security, crisis management, civil protection, public administration, emergency services or health and safety at work
• 3) active participation in conferences, seminars, training courses or initiatives promoting science;
• 4) a letter of reference, a statement from a line manager or another document confirming teaching, organisational or expert experience.
