RECTOR OF THE SILESIAN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY announces the competition for the position of assistant (F / M) in the group of research and teaching employees in the Department of Mathematics on the Faculty of Applied Mathematics

on the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, 2A Akademicka St.

Job description:

• persons, who meet the requirements specified in the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (consol. text, Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, as amended) and the Statute of the Silesian University of Technology of 3 June, 2019 (Legal Monitor of SUT of 2020, item 339) may enter the competition for the position of assistant (F / M)
• estimated work commencement date: 1st October 2026
• workplace and type of contract:
  Department of Mathematics on the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, full time employment contract
• anticipated period of employment: from 01.10.2026 to 30.09.2028

Requirements:

• having a professional title master or master engineer in the area of training in the field of mathematics
• participation in thematic conferences or symposia
• knowledge of English and Polish to an extent that allows to communicate and conduct classes

Additional requirements:

• submission of short plan for the attainment of an academic degree

Required documents:

• determined direction of her/his further activity, together with of short plan for the attainment of an academic degree
• confirmation of participation in thematic conferences or symposia
• scans of diplomas (in the case of a foreign diploma: confirmation of recognition of the diploma as equivalent in accordance with Article 327 of the Law on Higher Education and Science)
• declaration of the active English language skills
• declaration of knowledge of the Polish language (applies to candidates for whom Polish is not their native language)
• opinion of at least one academic teacher possessing the academic title or academic degree:
  PhD with habilitation, on the predisposition to work as a research and teaching employee
• candidate's declaration that the Silesian University of Technology will be the place of her/his primary employment
