RECTOR OF THE SILESIAN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY announces the competition for the position assistant professor (female / male) in a group of research and teaching employees in the Department of Applied Linguistics and Law at the Faculty of Organization and Management at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, 2A Akademicka St.

Job description:
  • 1) persons, who meet the requirements specified in the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (consol. text, Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, as amended) and the Statute of the Silesian University of Technology of 3 June, 2019 (Legal Monitor of SUT of 2020, item 339) may enter the competition for the position of assistant professor;
  • 2) estimated work commencement date: 01.10.2026;
  • 3) workplace and type of contract:
    Department of Applied Linguistics and Law, Faculty of Organization and Management, Zabrze, full-time employment contract;
  • 4) anticipated period of employment: from 01.10.2026 to 30.09.2027 (with the possibility of extension).
Requirements:
  • 1) a doctoral degree in the field of humanities (the discipline of English linguistics),
  • 2) completion of at least two months of foreign internship or six months of domestic internship in scientific research, industrial or local government units,
  • 3) documented achievements in promoting and popularizing science,
  • 4) substantive participation in a research project financed by other than a subvention,
  • 5) publications in international scientific journals, as well as documented achievements in the field of promotion and popularization of science,
  • 6) knowledge of Polish language in speech and writing, confirmed– applies to candidates for which Polish is not a native language,
  • 7) confirmed knowledge of English at least at the level of the doctoral examination.
Additional requirements:
  • 1) experience in translating legal, juridical and economic texts,
  • 2) law degree,
  • 3) willingness to cooperate with the socio-economic environment,
  • 4) the ability to prepare and implement scientific and didactic projects.
Required documents:
  • 1) application for employment / letter of motivation,
  • 2) professional CV,
  • 3) scans of diplomas (in the case of a foreign diploma – confirmation of recognition as equivalent (in accordance with Article 328 of the Law on Higher Education),
  • 4) documents confirming completion of a two-month foreign internship or a six-month domestic internship in a research, industrial or local government units – in the case, when candidates meets this additional requirement,
  • 5) a list of achievements in the field of promotion and popularization of science,
  • 6) confirmation of substantive participation in a research project financed from funds other than a subsidy,
  • 7) a list of publications in international journals,
  • 8) information on the directions of further scientific activity,
  • 9) certificate or declaration of active knowledge of a modern foreign language,
