announces an open competition for the position of assistant in the teaching staff group.

The competition is open to candidates who meet the requirements set out in Article 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018 − Law on Higher Education and Science (consolidated text: Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, as amended).

• teaching in the field of special education, with particular emphasis on methods of working with children with special educational needs in preschool and school settings; the vocational activity and leisure-time activities of people with intellectual disabilities; support for people with intellectual disabilities and their families; and interpersonal communication training;
• teaching students enrolled in the Special Education degree programme with a practical profile;
• preparing scholarly articles for submission to peer-reviewed journals;
• preparing funding applications for teaching-related projects for submission to external funding bodies and programmes, including the National Science Centre (NCN), the National Centre for Research and Development (NC ), the National Programme for the Development of Humanities (NPRH), and the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA), among others;
• disseminating the outcomes of academic work through participation in conferences and public engagement activities;
• cooperating with external social and economic stakeholders;
• participating in meetings with local and international project partners;
• performing administrative duties related to the research, teaching and organisational activities of the Institute of Pedagogy, Faculty of Education and Philosophy, University of Rzeszów.
• ability to operate specialist equipment used in teaching activities;
• proficiency in using Microsoft Office and specialist data-analysis software, such as Statistica;
• other documented qualifications, such as completed courses, postgraduate programmes, training courses, professional certifications, licences or other relevant authorisations;
• at least one year of professional experience working with children;
• ability to work effectively as part of a team.

• a master’s degree in special education;
• fluency in spoken and written Polish − applicable to foreign nationals;
• a working knowledge of English;
• experience in research activity, particularly in conducting qualitative research;
• research interests in the field of special education;
• aptitude for research and teaching in the field of special education, confirmed by a written reference from a professor or an academic who has obtained habilitation;
• authorship or co-authorship of scholarly articles in the field of special education;
• participation in national and international academic conferences;
• organisational experience, for example involvement in organising academic conferences, activities undertaken as part of a student research society, or similar activities.
