RECTOR OF THE SILESIAN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY announces the competition for the position of an assistant (F / M) in the group of teaching employees in the Department of Biomaterials and Medical Devices Engineering at the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering on the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, 2A Akademicka St.
Job description:
- persons, who meet the requirements specified in the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (consol. text, Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, as amended) and the Statute of the Silesian University of Technology of 3 June, 2019 (Legal Monitor of SUT of 2020, item 339) may enter the competition for the position of an assistant (F / M);
- estimated work commencement date: 01.10.2026;
- workplace and type of contract:
Department of Biomaterials and Medical Devices Engineering at the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering, full-time employment contract; - anticipated period of employment: from 01.10.2026 to 30.09.2027 (with the possibility of extension).
Requirements:
- Master's degree or Master of Science in Engineering in a field such as forensics/security engineering/computer forensics/chemistry/biology/mechatronics or a related field;
- participation in developing the course curriculum;
- active knowledge of English, both spoken and written;
- good knowledge of Polish, both spoken and written, enabling teaching.
Additional requirements:
- experience in teaching in higher education,
- professional experience in forensic laboratories, the police, uniformed services, research institutes, or companies specializing in trace analysis,
- completed specialized courses and training in forensics, computer forensics, document analysis, fingerprinting, forensic genetics, etc.
- authorization to provide expert opinions in police forensic laboratories will be an advantage,
- court expert status in forensic-related areas will be an advantage,
- completed courses and training in research laboratory management systems, in accordance with the PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard, will be an advantage.

- scans of diplomas (in the case of a foreign diploma: confirmation of recognition of the diploma as equivalent in accordance with Article 327 of the Law on Higher Education and Science),
- professional curriculum vitae,
- information on teaching achievements,
- documents or statements confirming compliance with additional requirements,
- declaration of active knowledge of English,
- declaration of knowledge of Polish (for candidates whose native language is not Polish),
- opinion of the academic supervisor or master's thesis supervisor regarding the candidate's suitability for teaching,
- confirmation of participation in the development of the course curriculum,
- a declaration by the candidate that the Silesian University of Technology will be their primary place of employment.
