The One Source Customer Service Engineer is embedded on-site at our client Polpharma in Poland, supporting the Perkin Elmer One Source Enterprise program. Acting as Perkin Elmer’s on-site ambassador, the Engineer safeguards the reliability, performance, and regulatory compliance of a diverse, multi-vendor fleet of analytical and laboratory instrumentation. The role combines hands-on instrument service – installation, maintenance, repair, and qualification – with the documentation and data-integrity discipline required in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical environment, with the goal of maximizing laboratory uptime and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Install, commission, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance, repairs, and qualification of third-party (multi-vendor) analytical and laboratory instrumentation at the Polpharma site.
  • Coordinate and schedule all on-site service activity, ensuring work is delivered to One Source and customer quality standards.
  • Manage the full One Source service scope for the site, including instrument repair.
  • Maintain documentation and QMS compliance to GMP standards, keeping all records at the correct revision level.
  • Deliver on-site user familiarization and training on defined product groups.
  • Manage on-site spare-parts inventory and service tools with high accuracy, and ensure all test equipment is calibrated within the required timelines.
  • Provide timely status updates on service tickets, attach Field Service Reports (FSR), and confirm time entries in the service-management system.
  • Complete all administrative reporting on time.
  • Raise quality notifications and proactively identify opportunities to improve product quality, reliability, and laboratory workflows.
  • Support the site’s health, safety, security, environmental, and compliance requirements, and contribute to One Source team performance targets and SLAs.
  • Identify and flag billable-service, consumable, and upgrade opportunities to the One Source account team.
Critical Skills
  • Strong hands-on troubleshooting across multi-vendor laboratory instrumentation (e.g., HPLC/UHPLC, GC).
  • Working knowledge of GMP-regulated pharmaceutical laboratory operations, qualification life cycles, and data-integrity requirements.
  • Disciplined documentation and QMS adherence, with high accuracy and accountability.
  • Customer-focused mindset with clear, professional written and verbal communication with stakeholders at all levels.
  • High degree of autonomy, ownership, and rigor, combined with a collaborative team spirit.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related technical or scientific discipline, plus a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a field-service or technical-service role on analytical or laboratory instrumentation.
  • OR Completed technical or vocational qualification in a relevant technical field, plus 5+ years’ experience servicing or using analytical instrumentation.
