Overview
The Electronics Global Supplier Quality and Development Team for Collins Aerospace is strategically positioned across various regions worldwide to oversee and enhance the quality of electronic suppliers. The role involves conducting regular audits, implementing quality control measures, and fostering strong relationships with suppliers to ensure compliance with aerospace standards.
Responsibilities- Overseeing suppliers' performance, primarily through on-site visits, the use of the OASIS certification program, and use of the Supplier portals/Sharepoint
- Working to make improvements and reduce the risk at high-risk suppliers by issuing corrective action requests, performing on-site QMS/Product assessments or audits, data analysis, training and/or other continuous improvement activities
- Analyzing and making recommendations on quality data and the development of part/supplier specific quality issue resolution and corrective actions
- Providing research on and explanations of root cause analysis & problem solving (Red-X & 8D) in escape Management procedures
- Developing corrective and/or preventive actions for systemic process and product design problems for products provided by suppliers
- Conducting processes and procedures for supplier qualification/certification, source inspection and material release processes, and Correction Action Boards/DQ Clinics with suppliers
- Reviewing processes and metrics and making recommendations to ensure the supplier is capable to meet all requirements for work transfer and process change management including Resourcing Gate and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) acceptance
- Strong background in electronics commodity (electronics boards and components)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to speak effectively and easily with both internal and external executives and employees
- Ability to adapt and use multiple forms of interaction styles to influence stakeholders to follow ideas and proposals
- Ability to use flexible and adaptable working styles to build and develop effective cross‑functional teamwork
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering/industrial engineering or similar field; equivalent work experience may be considered instead of education
- 6+ years professional experience in a supply chain operations environment (monitoring, auditing, developing suppliers/operations) or equivalent
- Knowledge of Quality Regulations, Quality Core Tools Knowledge (PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, SPC, etc.)
- Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Practical Problem Solving, International Management System Standards, Authorities/Regulations/Standards, Knowledge of QMS – Quality Management Systems, Auditing/Assessing, Risk Management / Continuous Improvement
- Experience in the manufacturing area
- Working knowledge of AS9100, AS9145, APQP, PPAP
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
- Aerospace experience
- Lean Six Sigma experience
- Special processes knowledge
- Experience with digital quality tools (Net Inspect, RAM, EtQ)
- Strong data analysis skills (statistics, SPC)
