Overview
Position Summary: The Electronic Technician adds value to BAPI and Manufacturing Engineering Team by providing technical resources for the manufacturing department (Production staff), assuring electronic components are working appropriately and equipment is working by conducting reactive and preventative maintenance, examining, and qualifying First Article Parts, performing root cause analysis for RMAs, performing preventative maintenance, and assists test engineering department with the development, maintenance, and repair of test fixtures.
- Advanced repair and rework of SMT and through hole technology
- Identify trends from Non-Conforming reports, RMA reports and recommend changes and corrective actions to address quality issues
- Advanced test fixture build, maintenance and troubleshooting
- Support and assist Technicians throughout non-conforming, maintenance, RMA, and repair processes
- Support and assist Production staff with product, testing or machinery concerns/issues
- Support and assist Engineering with building prototypes and performing product validation testing
- Training ex. new products, wave, lead forming, pad printing
- Mentorship and training of Electronic Technician I
- Support and assist Test Engineering with calibration and maintenance of manufacturing test equipment.
- Support and assist Materials by examining, testing, and qualifying new parts.
- Maintenance of the selective, wave, and robotic solder machines, splice band crimpers, lead formers, potting machine, wire processing equipment, and air compressors
- Maintain and/or see to the maintenance of testing equipment supplied by Engineering
- Assist Manufacturing Engineering Team with setting up machinery
- Assist in calibration of manufacturing test equipment and updating documentation
- Assist in calibration and certification of electronic components using industry standard methodologies
Education Requirements:
- A University degree in Engineering;
Masters Preferred - Degrees Preferred:
Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics, or similar
Trainings Requirements:
Basic understanding of electrical control circuits that employ 24 VAC/DC, 120/240 VAC | Electronic Circuits | Understanding of basic electronic instrumentation (DMM, Oscilloscopes, Power supplies) | Exposure to selective and/or wave soldering machinery | Ability to perform precise measurements of mechanical components vs a print | Having experience in building ATE prototypes would be a plus.
Other Requirements:
- Proficiency in English (and Polish) - minimum C1 level (ENTRY REQUIREMENT for applying)
- 2-5 years of experience in installation, testing, diagnosis, and/or repair of electronic or related electrical equipment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office – specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to document processes, procedures, and findings
- Ability to provide troubleshooting information to Test Engineering
- Experience in assembly, disassembly and troubleshooting small electronic components / products
- Experience in certified soldering and rework techniques
- Experience reading complex schematics of digital and analog circuitry
- Ability to prioritize projects as they are introduced. Must work with the appropriate team to accomplish goals and solve problems and create processes to prevent future problems.
- The candidate must have exceptional communication skills, demonstrated ability to communicate respectfully, culturally competent and collaboratively. Excellent ability to communicate in verbal, written and electronic forms in a professional manner when working with employees, vendors and company contacts
