Senior Mobile Robotics Engineer

In this role, you will design and develop advanced robotics solutions across multiple domains, including ground, aerial, and underwater systems. As part of the Soft Serve Robotics Group, you will work on end-to-end robotics systems — from prototyping to production — combining perception, planning, control, and system integration in both simulated and real-world environments.

• Design and develop solutions for various mobile robots, including ground, air, and underwater systems
• Build rapid prototypes and refine them into production-ready solutions
• Test robotics solutions in both simulated and real-world environments
• Integrate robots with cloud services for enhanced functionality
• Design automated robotic systems to improve production efficiency and precision in specific industries

• Strong proficiency in C/C++ and Python programming, with 5+ years of software development experience
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related field
• Comprehensive knowledge in areas such as mobile robots, drones, AGVs, AVs, AMRs, automotive systems, ROS/ROS2 & RViz, simulation tools (Gazebo, Nvidia Isaac Sim, Bullet, Carla), robotics perception, trajectory planning, kinematics, and obstacle avoidance
• Advanced capability in understanding, developing, and implementing complex systems
• Strong expertise in the principles and operations of robotics sensors, actuators, and control systems
• Practical experience in Unix (Linux) systems
• Extensive experience in testing, continuous integration, build, deployment, and monitoring for complex systems
• In-depth knowledge of system design and performance evaluation
• Practical experience in adhering to functional safety and safety of intended function standards
• Professional proficiency in English for communication
• Strong analytical capability with a solid mathematical foundation and a detail-oriented, problem-solving approach
• Proven experience in estimating project efforts and communicating them to external customers
• Demonstrated experience in technical marketing support activities, including presentations and workshops for C-level executives (a plus)
• Working knowledge of CUDA kernels or other hardware acceleration techniques (nice to have)
