You will translate spacecraft requirements (defined and driven by Systems Engineering) into a robust and scalable avionics design.
Key Responsibilities:- Own the spacecraft avionics architecture
- Translate system requirements into technical design decisions
- Manage technical and performance budgets
- Conduct technical trade studies (e.g. COTS vs. custom solutions, radiation tolerance, redundancy)
- Review unit designs within your area of expertise
- Own ICDs and interfaces (internal and external partners), including pinouts, grounding, etc.
- Lead avionics activities in project reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, QR)
- 5+ years of experience in avionics, embedded systems, or electronics engineering within New Space companies
- Proven experience owning the architecture of complex embedded/electronic systems
- Strong understanding of:
- Digital electronics and embedded systems (MCUs, FPGAs, memory, peripherals)
- Interfaces and protocols (e.g. CAN, Ethernet, Space Wire, SPI, I2C, UART, PUS, CCSDS)
- Requirements and interface documentation (ICDs), as well as configuration management
- Verification and test strategies
- Ability to communicate clearly and make sound trade-offs under constraints (mass, power, schedule, cost, reliability)
- Hands‑on mindset when needed (e.g. design reviews, operational support)
- Fluent English (written and spoken)
- Experience with space systems (Cube Sats / Small Sats) and relevant standards (ECSS, NASA practices)
- Understanding of radiation effects (TID, SEE) and rad‑tolerant design approaches
- EMC/EMI design and testing experience
- Experience with:
- RTOS or embedded Linux
- Safety concepts (FMEA, fault trees)
- Spacecraft data handling and FDIR
- PUS communication standards
- Familiarity with typical subsystem interfaces (ADCS sensors/actuators, EPS, TT&C radios, payloads)
- Familiarity with the SpaceVPX standard
Work in a friendly, well‑coordinated team of enthusiasts
Stable employment in a modern company with an established market position
Attractive salary and benefits package (e.g., private medical care, sports card)
Opportunities for professional development and participation in innovative projects
