Solutions Architect

Purpose of role:

To design solutions for control automation and monitoring projects (BMS, PLC, SCADA, Power Monitoring/Metering).

• Recognised Subject Matter Expert (SME) in designing, engineering, implementing and commissioning BMS / SCADA / PLC (Automation / Control / Monitoring) and Metering solutions.
• Experience with in the ‘Data Centre’ sector (BMS, PLC, SCADA & Power Monitoring/Metering).
• Proven skills and experience in designing, engineering, implementing and commissioning BMS / SCADA / PLC (Automation / Control / Monitoring) and Metering solutions.
• Excellent BMS / SCADA / PLC and metering system product (software and hardware) knowledge, including any required certification, and proven experience of use.
• Third Party supplier / distributor knowledge.
• Good working knowledge and understanding of mechanical and electrical building services.
• Ability to assist sales / bid teams with new project opportunities.

• Interface between the bid team and the project delivery team, providing input into New Projects bid opportunities.
• Take responsibility for the project solution in terms of design, including interfacing with external suppliers/customers and internal stakeholders.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for BMS/PLC/SCADA/EPMS systems, providing advanced technical expertise.
• Support the Project Manager and Lead Engineer on project design and engineering implementation processes.
• Provide support to the wider engineering team regarding tools, techniques, and process improvements to ensure delivery on time, to budget, and effectively.
• Ensure all design information is available, and appropriate design documentation is completed, issued, and approved.
• Maintain accurate and timely communication with the ABEC Project Manager, Engineering Manager, and wider engineering team.
• Accurately record tasks on timesheets and complete expense claims on time.
• Provide regular progress updates to Project Managers, Engineering Manager, and Technical Support Managers.
• Maintain work efficiency to complete tasks within, or ahead of, allocated time frames/schedules.
• Consider and review alternative engineering methods, tools, and processes to improve quality and cost.
• Ensure standards of workmanship are consistently of the highest quality.
