KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- conducting research necessary for the development of the discipline of material engineering in the scope of tribological research and modification of structure and properties of the engineering materials, including copper and copper alloys as well as composites for the needs of energetic transformation,
- publishing and dissemination of research results and participation in the scientific conferences both in the country and international,
- participation in research projects financed from the Polish and International sources,
- teaching classes in the 1st cycle and 2nd cycle studies for degree programmes conducted by the Faculty of Science and Technology, also in English,
- realization of the organizational tasks in the scope of promoting the discipline of material engineering and popularization of science in accordance with the Individual Assignment of Duties,
- realization of the teaching load in the amount of 210 teaching hours.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS (obligatory):
- minimum PhD in materials engineering, metallurgy or mechanical engineering,
- experience in conducting research in the discipline of materials engineering in the scope of tribological studies and modification of the structure and properties of engineering materials, including copper and its alloys and composites for the purposes of energy transformation,
- recent, high-scoring scientific achievements in the discipline of material engineering indexed in Scopus or in Web of Science,
- history of application for external financing of research projects through participation in competitive grant programmes.
- history of significant international scientific activity (e.g., a documented internship abroad, participation in international conferences, coordination and initiation of the international cooperation in the discipline of material engineering),
- knowledge of research methods connected with acquiring and processing of the engineering metal alloys, in particular copper and copper alloys as well as composite materials,
- knowledge of research methods as well as experience in conducting tribological research, and research concerning mechanic properties of metals and composites,
- ability to operate the equipment for the research of the qualities and structure of materials,
- experience in teaching classes in a higher education institution in the scope of material engineering and metallurgy,
- ability to conduct classes using the tools for distance learning,
- command of English that allows for teaching classes (min. B2 level),
- command of Polish that allows for conducting classes or readiness to learn Polish (in the case of foreign candidates).
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS (recommended):
- software operation skills in terms of MES modeling software,
- experience in interpretation of research and in using the laboratory-based, methods and equipment for structural research and research of tribological properties (tribotesters, hardness testers, durometers etc.),
- experience in cooperation with the industry by participation in projects financed by The National Center for Research and Development and/or an active participation in applying for such projects,
- knowledge of the research project management methodology (preferably confirmed by a certificate and/or experience),
- documented cooperation with industry and international research activity confirmed by joint publications,
- presentation of letters of recommendation,
- presentation of the research development plan.
