Senior Team Lead, Platform DBA

Cloud Pay is seeking an expert Senior Team Lead to guide our Platform Database (DBA) team. This critical, hands‑on leadership role is responsible for the architecture, implementation, performance optimisation, and maintenance of Cloud Pay's entire database estate.

• Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure database architectures.
• Lead, mentor, and coach a team of database engineers, supporting their technical and career development.
• Pro‑actively monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimisations.
• Oversee all database management activities, including installation, configuration, and upgrades.
• Develop and execute comprehensive backup and recovery strategies.
• Implement and enforce database security measures to safeguard sensitive data.
• Collaborate closely with the platform, development, and other stakeholder teams.
• Contribute to data modelling, data quality checks, and data governance policies.

• Proven track record of success in database administration, ideally in a platform engineering environment.
• Experience leading and mentoring a team of technical professionals.
• Strong expertise in a variety of database technologies (e.g., Postgre
  
  SQL, MySQL, Mongo
  
  DB).
• Experience with cloud‑based database services (e.g., AWS RDS).
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong knowledge of database performance tuning and SQL.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Beneficial:
  Certifications in relevant database technologies or experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
