Alfa Systems, a leading global provider of enterprise software for the asset finance industry, is expanding its European footprint and has recently opened a new Poland Smart Hub in Gdańsk. As we continue to grow our Cloud Operations capabilities, we are looking for curious, motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Cloud Operations Engineers.
As a Cloud Operations Engineer, you will be part of the team responsible for the availability, stability and performance of Alfa’s cloud-hosted environments. Working closely with senior engineers, you will support our AWS-based infrastructure and Linux-based systems used by clients around the world.
This is a shift-based operational role (including evenings, nights and weekends on rotation), ensuring 24/7 coverage of mission‑critical services.
What You’ll Do- Monitor and support cloud environments running on AWS (including services such as Cloud Formation, EC2, S3, RDS, etc.).
- Use and maintain AWS Cloud Formation tool for provisioning and updating environments.
- Perform daily operational checks, incident handling, patching and system maintenance.
- Follow defined processes, documentation and SLAs to ensure high service quality.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to resolve complex technical issues.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and learn industry best practices.
- Take part in structured training and certification opportunities within cloud and operations.
- Interest in cloud technologies and operational work.
- Understanding of AWS or cloud concepts in general.
- Familiarity with Linux command-line usage.
- Understanding of IT infrastructure basics (networking, operating systems, monitoring).
- Strong problem-solving approach and attention to detail.
- Process-oriented mindset with the ability to work within structured operational frameworks (in.ex.
ITIL). - Good English communication skills (written and spoken).
- Exposure to a technical support, service desk, or operational process environment in an IT or technology setting, with an ability to follow structured processes and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Practical exposure to AWS Cloud Formation, EC2, S3, RDS.
- Familiarity with log aggregation and monitoring tools such as Sumo Logic, Splunk, or similar platforms.
- ITIL certification (e.g., ITIL Foundation).
- Certifications such as AWS Cloud Practitioner.
- Language certificates (in.ex. FCE).
- Experience working in a shift-based or support environment.
