Position: DATA ARCHITECT WITH AWS
Location: Town of Poland

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Data Architect with AWS for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Poland. Our client specializes in delivering digital forensic and incident response solutions tailored for businesses, public safety organizations, and service providers engaged in the investigation of cybercrimes.

You will lead data storage strategy and design across the multi-product SaaS platform as the client unifies independent products into a coherent platform. This role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on technical expertise, shaping the data architecture vision while getting into the details during implementation and troubleshooting.

This role requires working hours with overlap till 6:30 PM CET

Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of AWS Open Search/Elasticsearch (you've solved hard problems at scale with indexing, querying, and performance).
  • Experience with broad data technology relational databases (e.g., Postgre

SQL, MySQL, RDS), object storage (S3), No

    SQL (e.g., Dynamo

    DB, Mongo

    DB, Redis), and data warehousing.
  • Knowledge of cloud and container technologies, with AWS preferred (Azure/GCP also valued); understanding of stateful services in Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of platform architecture, track record of driving technical strategy across multiple teams or products at scale.
  • Senior‑level maturity, you make those around you better through mentorship and capability building.
  • Influence without authority, work effectively across teams, bring clarity to ambiguity, and think strategically.
  • Experience with SaaS, understanding of multi‑tenant environments, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
  • Drive data architecture unification across multiple SaaS products, creating coherent patterns while respecting product needs.
  • Partner with vertical technical leads to provide horizontal architectural support and alignment.
  • Design and optimize data storage across multiple technologies, including AWS Open Search/Elasticsearch, relational databases, S3, No

    SQL, and data warehousing.
  • Optimize for performance and resilience, indexing, querying, high availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery at scale.
  • Support AI initiatives, partnering with the AI specialist team on data architecture for AI capabilities.
  • Bring clarity from ambiguity, translating complex challenges into a clear architectural direction.
  • Build capability, not dependencies, by mentoring engineers, so teams become more self‑sufficient.
  • Balance performance, cost, and reliability across the platform.

What Success Looks Like:

  • The data alignment strategy enables the platform to store and search data more efficiently.
  • 2-3 high‑impact problems resolved, with key blockers addressed and measurable reliability improvements achieved.
  • Teams operate independently, and engineers understand the "why" and apply principles without needing you for every decision.
  • Knowledge is multiplying, and the people you've mentored are teaching others.
  • Working at high leverage, guiding multiple teams, not embedded in any single one.
We offer
  • US and EU projects based on advanced technologies.
  • Competitive compensation based on skills and experience.
  • Regular performance appraisals to support your growth.
  • Flexibility in workspace, either remote or our welcoming office.
  • Bonuses for article writing, public talks, and other activities.
  • Generous time off, including vacation, national holidays, sick leaves, and family days.
  • Personalized learning programs tailored to your interests and skill development.
  • Free tech webinars and meetups organized by Svitla.
  • Regular corporate online activities.
  • Awesome team and a friendly, supportive community!
