Salesforce Developer; Data Migration Specialist

Overview of the Role

As a Salesforce Developer (Data Migration Specialist) at HCLTech, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and efficiency of data operations within our Salesforce ecosystem. This position is critical to supporting data-driven decision-making and business growth by designing and executing robust data migration and integration solutions. Your expertise will directly impact HCLTech’s ability to leverage customer insights, streamline operations, and deliver exceptional value to clients globally.

• Data Import and Migration
  • Design and implement end-to-end data migration strategies to move large datasets from legacy systems, third-party applications, and other sources into Salesforce.
  • Develop reusable scripts and tools (using Python, Apex, SQL, etc.) to automate data imports, transformations, validation, and cleansing processes.
  • Validate, reconcile, and ensure data integrity, consistency, and accuracy throughout all migration activities.
  • Leverage deep understanding of Salesforce’s data model—including standard and custom objects, relationships, and field configurations—to support complex data operations.
  • Configure and optimize Salesforce data structures to align with evolving business requirements and ensure seamless data migration.
• Bulk API and Integration
  • Utilize Salesforce Bulk API and integration tools (such as Data Loader, Workbench, Mule Soft, Informatica, or other ETL solutions) to efficiently manage high-volume data operations.
  • Build, maintain, and troubleshoot integrations between Salesforce and external systems, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable data exchanges.
  • Diagnose and resolve integration issues, focusing on data flow and API performance.
• Data Analysis and Reporting
  • Analyze datasets to identify patterns, inconsistencies, and data gaps, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Develop custom reports and dashboards within Salesforce to monitor data quality, migration outcomes, and support business intelligence initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate business data requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Scripting and Automation
  • Create and maintain reusable code libraries and frameworks for recurring data migration and import processes.
• Best Practices and Documentation
  • Adhere to Salesforce and HCLTech best practices for data management, security, and performance optimization.
  • Document data migration methodologies, scripts, integration workflows, and standard operating procedures to support knowledge sharing and team collaboration.

• Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Salesforce Developer or in a similar role with a strong focus on data migration and system integration.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading and executing large-scale data migrations into Salesforce.
• Technical Skills
  • In-depth knowledge of Salesforce CRM architecture, including standard and custom objects, relationships, and data modeling.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce Bulk API, Data Loader, Workbench, and ETL tools such as Mule Soft, Informatica, or Talend.
  • Hands‑on experience building integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, or connected applications.
  • Strong data analytical abilities with experience in SQL, Excel, and Salesforce reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce Flow, Process Builder, or other automation tools (preferred).
• Certifications (Preferred)
  • Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I or II
  • Salesforce Certified Sharing and Visibility Architect
